Has an awkward gate here but is expected to feature prominently. APPARATUS (4) was sent out favourite and registered a strong debut win. Will be further improved and can go back-to-back here. HOWDY (5) overcame a betting drift to register a debut win at Echuca. Rises in grade this time but looks a solid chance to make it two-from-two. THE REAL THING (9) was placed at Cranbourne then wasn't a bad effort at Pakenham last time in good line-up. Has the ability and won't be far away.
