Solid tempo with several going forward headed by Soul Benefit. RUFF (3) went to the front in a change of tactics last start and it looked like paying off until he was bloused late over 2000m at Canberra. Rock hard fit and looks the testing material despite coming back in distance. Three-year-old maiden CIRCA (15) last raced a month ago when midfield over this distance at Swan Hill. Went close at Benalla over the mile the run before. In the mix although racing out of his grade. SERGEANT MAVERS (10) is another maiden who has weighed in at his last three appearances, most recently when third over 2520m at Cranbourne after leading. Big step back in distance but should be competitive. CRAZY ATOM (5) has been about the mark at her last three and is worth an each-way investment. DREAMSTONE (6) was beaten under a length over the mile during the Wagga carnival. Big chance on the quick back-up. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Ruff.
