Expecting Pacific Hero to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sharp trip. PACIFIC VAMPIRE (12) was well fancied when resuming last start and proved too strong, scoring by 2.5 lengths over 1000m on the all-weather. Open to plenty of improvement and can make it back-to-back wins despite the step up in grade. CITY GOLD STAR (3) scored over this journey two back then failed at the longer trip last time when seventh at this track. Great chance to atone. STENMARK (9) finds it hard to win with four victories from 42 starts. Turned in a decent effort last start when fourth over 1400m at this track, beaten 2.5 lengths. Consistent performer with each-way claims. MT NISEKO (8) hasn't raced since a win at this track over 1200m five weeks ago. Kept ticking over with a recent trial. Up in class but has the ability to give this a shake.
