Strong early tempo with Wagunda and Gobbo's Mate leading the way. The lightly raced KERENSKY (5) is progressing well this prep. Settled worse than midfield before going through his gears nicely to get up for second last start over this distance at Bairnsdale. Probably gets back again from the wide alley but with a decent tempo likely he should be storming home. SWIFT HIT (4) struggled last start in a BM64. Best form reference is two back over this distance at Seymour when he was handy all the way and beaten under two lengths. Maps beautifully from this draw and he looks a major player. BROMEO (7) struggled at his latest appearance over this distance at Ballarat, the first time he has missed the frame over 1200m in five runs. Can bounce back with the aid of the inside gate. BANKROLL (8) is back from a five-month absence. Beaten narrowly when resuming in a BM64 at Bendigo last prep - that is strong form for a race like this. THE LONGEST YARD (6) didn't do much first-up in town but strips fitter and will find this easier. SUGGESTED PLAY: Kerensky on top in an open race.
