Abundant early pace from Munchkin, Knockemstiff and Pendragon vying for the lead with Life Goes On on their backs. MUNCHKIN (1) has good recent form lines to his credit. He showed good pace over 1200m on the Turffontein Inside course last time, but was outrun late. He takes a drop in class and can notch up his second-career victory. SAMOA (7) has fair recent form lines to her name. Five of her seven career victories have come over this distance. Gavin Lerena steps back into the saddle and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her when it matters most. VAN MEIJEL (5) was below his best last time, finishing 12th over 1200m at Turffontein Inside. Better than that last run would suggest and should prove hard to beat in this suitable race. THYMETOSHINE (8) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1000m at this track when finishing fifth of nine. Has each-way claims in this line-up.
