Strong early tempo with Riko Mica driving forward from a wide gate with Mephisto also handy. RIKO MICA (10) turned in a strong performance first-up when in the money at this track but disappointed last time when sixth, beaten 11 lengths, here over 1700m after being prominent at the turn. Finds a more suitable contest and can turn things around. HABIBI (3) resumes today after filling a minor placing at his last appearance at Kasamatsu over 1600m on March 19. Now under the care of new trainer Nozomi Ono. Rates highly and makes plenty of appeal. CRAFT KING (6) had been racing well with two consecutive placings before last start managing only seventh over 1200m at this circuit. Rates highly and is worth another try. MEPHISTO (2) finished seventh two runs back then improved last start but found a couple better over 1200m at this course, beaten 3 lengths. Has his share of talent and is hard to beat in this suitable race.
