Expecting Shez Shamus to take up the lead at a genuine tempo. SHEZ SHAMUS (7) set the pace and was caught late at New Plymouth in her penultimate start, and then improved again to take them all the way at Te Aroha just over a month ago, clinging on to score by a nose. Those front-running tactics will make her hard to peg back around this circuit. AMUSEMENT (10) seem to like to be ridden in or near the lead, and she was back in form when finishing second by a short head when trying to make all the pace at Matamata nearly 3 weeks ago. The extra 100m will suit her, and she can go one better. FASTDEELDUN (4) did not fire at Te Rapa last start after finishing an encouraging third fresh up at Arawa Park early last month. Stick with him on an each-way basis. EVER CHARM (3) ran on strongly for third when resuming at Matamata. Include in all combos. SUGGESTED PLAY: Ever Charm each way.
