GOING: G(4)

FEBRUARY 28 SDRA COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS QUALIFIER AT MTC CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1000m

Track: GOOD 4   Clear (Max: 34)   Rail: +5m 1400m-WPost, Ture Remainder.

Solid tempo likely from Baggage Handler and Hi Poppy. SERENADING (10) is a promising mare building nicely, having made the perfect return at Albury over 900m. Kept fresh with 32 days between runs and is drawn to get all the favours from the inside. She can remain unbeaten. TEYLU (1) showed grit when driving hard to score as favourite at Gundagai. Loves this distance and strips rock-hard fit. Carries the big weight but is tough and deserves strong consideration. SHELLY’S LEGACY (9) is yet to break through this campaign but continues to produce strong closing efforts. Expect him to be charging late again. REASONABLE POINT (4) displayed sharp tactical speed when resuming at Gundagai, only to be gunned down by Teylu. Improvement is likely but the wide draw makes life difficult. SUGGESTED PLAY: Serenading to win.
