Moderate tempo with Pareto leading the way and a few others keeping in touch. Funny race with most of the chances coming off last start failures. WAKU WAKU (3) raced wide and couldn't make an impression last start over 1500m at Muswellbrook. Scored three back over 1350m at Wyong and has three wins from six at or around today's trip. Can bounce back. PARETO (1) is the form runner, most recently clocking in second over 1200m at the Gold Coast in a Class 5. Very fit and would be top pick only he is unproven at this sort of distance. HOLLYWOOD EPIC (6) went close two back at Toowoomba then was too bad to be true at the same venue at his last appearance five weeks ago. Worth another chance while fresh with ace hoop Jace McMurray taking over. RUBYDOO (7) had been going well until a poor effort over 1666m at Ipswich last Saturday. This looks a more suitable assignment. TREASURER (9) cruised home in a Class 4 over this course and distance two back then was terrible at Toowoomba last time. Can improve off a five-week let-up. SUGGESTED PLAY: Waku Waku on top but not super confident.
