Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by Carnegie Hill. CARNEGIE HILL (1) raced up on the speed and had his chance only to be edged out in a Class 1 over 1800m at the Gold Coast last start. Better placed back to the mile and with 4kg less after the claim he looks beautifully placed. Draws gate one so ticks all round. GOLDEN MIKKI (2) settled last in a big field then made steady ground to clock in fifth last Saturday over 1400m at the Gold Coast. Will appreciate the longer trip today. Obviously going well at home and this looks a winnable race. TRIPLE TIME (6) was very good first-up at Murwillumbah then struggled at Doomben more recently over this trip. Drops 3.5kgs and strips fitter so a much better run is on the cards. HARD AS BROK (4) caught the eye at the end of 1400m at Gatton last start. Beaten less than a length over 1600m at Eagle Farm at this stage last prep. Definite contender. SUGGESTED PLAY: Carnegie Hill to win.
