It's likely to be tactical given scant early speed. ALLEGRO MISS (10) capped a long run of good performances with a well-deserved win over this course and distance last Friday evening. Up in class but drops 2kgs so on the quick turnaround she looks a big chance again. SCARLI JAPALI (9) was 33 days between runs when she recorded a surprise win in a similar race to this on New Year's Day. Rarely runs a poor race, filling a top three spot at better than 50%. Nicely in after the claim so another big run is on the cards. OAKFIELD HAWK (2) has not fired in two runs this prep in keeping with previous campaigns. Goes a lot better at the third run in and is dropping back from Saturday company so a far better effort looks assured. ASSAILANT (3) is a handy stayer capable of bobbing up in midweek company despite returning from a six-month spell. SUBARCTIC (4) needed that run at Randwick last start. Loves soft going and can improve sharply. SUGGESTED PLAY: Allegro Miss to win again.
