Moderate pace with Maravich taking up the running ahead of Slugworth and Lucifer The Cat. SLUGWORTH (3) has improved his last two following the switch from a Victorian stable. Will be better for the run over a mile at the Sunshine Coast and the extra metres should suit. Peaks and gets his chance in this lineup. PROCLAIMER (6) is better than his last two starts suggest and he's on a quick back-up. He went well enough over a mile here three back and gives every indication the 1890m will suit. MARAVICH (1) has been narrowly beaten his last two and can use the inside gate. Deserves to break through and the tongue tie goes on again. The remainder look to be making up the numbers. LUCIFER THE CAT (9) may be the best of them. SUGGESTED PLAY: Slugworth appeals most.
