POMPEII SHIELD (2) wasn't fancied on debut but raced on speed and boxed on fairly. Has upside and sure to improve over the extra ground. LANCE ALOT (3) is yet to break through after five starts. Placed two back then last time out was fifth, beaten 7 lengths, over 1600m at Turffontein Standside. Has the pace to take a forward position. Suited here and can feature with even luck. SHOREYBOMBA (4) wasn't far away last time over a mile and did place only try course and distance. Worth another chance.
