Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by Sun Maroon. MAKOTO GOKOTAI (10) resumes in a similar race to his last run eight months ago when second, beaten a neck. Strong chance to kick the campaign off on the right note. CENTURY BOND (11) is a promising type who hasn't raced since finishing 21 lengths away in eighth over 1800m in stakes class at Kyoto Dirt on May 25 2024 which was the only run of that prep. Has won when fresh from a spell in the past. Should be in the finish in this weaker race. SMASH THROUGH (6) finished out of the money two starts back then was beaten 4 lengths when fourth over 1200m at this track a month ago. Has his share of ability. Hard to beat in this suitable race. CANAL SHOHEI (14) turned in a decent effort last start to finish second over 1500m at Kawasaki. This looks a good race for him so another forward showing looks likely.
