NUM TIME COMMENT

Gee Gees Brother should have enough pace to lead a low-pressure contest. CHEF'S KISS (1) is a former NSW galloper who was heavily bet first try in Tassie on the turf at Hobart. Got well back but wound up late over the sharper trip. Better for it and the extra ground a huge plus this time. Worth another chance. GEE GEES BROTHER (3) led and was run over late when placed here fresh. Will strip fitter and give a sight this longer journey. UNFILTERED (7) hasn't been far away last couple, the latest finishing sixth but only a couple of lengths from the winner. Has more upside than most and looks one of the chances. JOCK ROCK (8) is a gelding by Squamosa out of Bestie's Daughter on debut. Ran fourth in a trial at Devonport Synthetic over 1009m. Betting to hold the key. GUBER (4) has had a lot of tries but hard to beat on his best form.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Follow up on Chef's Kiss.
2 12:17 Kevin Sharkie Maiden 1150m
Many of these step out for the first time so a genuine tempo is expected. EQUIVASTER (4) looks the same play on recent form. Has been winding up strongly and looks close to a win. Newitt goes aboard and drawn for a soft trail on the inside. Looks hard to beat. LYREBIRD LADY (5) is a former Victorian making her Tassie debut. Best figures stack up and has trialled to keep ticking over. Watch closely. HARRATA (1) made a solid return when fourth and strips fitter. Expected to have come on. AWESOME ORPHAN (3) has been freshened since disappointing last time. Leading rider goes aboard and is well worth another try. FLYING FURTHER (10) is a three-year-old filly making her debut by Alpine Eagle out of Fiveandfurther. Has been well educated with plenty of trials and is worth keeping safe.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Stay with Equivaster.

Small field but plenty of pace engaged, including Thoros Of Myr, Hartman and Furneaux. Small field but fairly even. GEEGEES MISSILE (6) has been in the money 12 of 14 career runs and has been a beaten favourite at all three this campaign. All on turf though and returns to the synthetic where she won her only try course and distance. Stick with her. FURNEAUX (3) was solid in open class last time and hard to beat this line-up. CHEROKEE DANCER (2) is yet to miss the frame in six fresh runs. Looks well placed here and will take beating. THOROS OF MYR (1) is a speedy type who will give a sight fresh. HARTMAN (4) resumes and is a speedy type with a consistent record. Has a top record here over further but has claims if presented on song.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Stay with Geegees Missile.
4 01:29 Goodstone Group Class 1 Hcp 1009m
Houlihan should find the front with Party Day and Mel's Street Above on her heels. Interesting clash between the top two selections with Wells and Darmanin switching mounts. HOULIHAN (2) was a maiden winner here fresh then has been beaten as favourite all three since. Normally shows good speed but drifted back last time and was well off best. Change of rider and worth another chance. GEEGEES MERCEDES (5) was solid here two back then was well off best from a wide gate last time. Returns to the synthetic and off a better draw worth another try. PARTY DAY (4) resuming from a lay-off. Recent trial form very strong including a win at the latest appearance at Devonport Synthetic. Opened last campaign with a second at this track over 1009m. in the mix. SUPER SNIPPY (6) has not raced since finishing 4.5 lengths away in fourth over 1200m at Hobart on April 12. In the mix fresh.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Houlihan can atone.

In the small field Kireina Marubrah and Quicken Up are expected to take up the running. WOLF JUNIOR (4) returns from a break and is a fresh-up winner. Readied for this with two trials, placing at both, and looks set for a big return. STARDARMUS (3) led throughout to score an effortless win here two back then was runner-up on the turf at Hobart last time. Going well and will take catching in the small field. ALPINE BLAST (6) is a veteran who doesn't win out of turn these days but has a very strong established record here. Change of rider and will be winding up strongly. KIREINA MARUBRAH (5) goes well at the course and distance and is drawn for a soft run. Among the chances. SUGOI LEGEND (7) is next best in a race that drops right away.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen on Wolf Junior fresh.
6 02:39 Ladbrokes Mega Multi Open Handicap 1350m
Simply Deep should spear straight to the front of the small field. SIMPLY DEEP (7) has been in sparkling form winning his last two and is yet to miss the frame in four runs at this course and distance. Freshened as he drops back in trip but looks hard to beat again. TUSKEGEE (6) looks the threat after a near miss fresh. Huge weight drop for this and is yet to miss the frame in 11 starts here, including four wins. Goes close on the back of that smart return. THE LONGEST YARD (5) improved last time out, finishing a head behind Simply Deep when he worked home well. Won only try this course and distance. NICCO THE GREEK (2) missed the placings two runs back then improved last start when he made late ground but found a couple better over 1200m at Hobart, beaten only 1.5 lengths. This looks a sterner test than last time but on his best form he is right in contention. CAPTAIN CAM (1) goes well here and must include off the inside.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Stay with Simply Deep.
7 03:14 Vale Nigel Schuuring Class 1 Hcp 1350m
Moderate pace with Nunkeri taking up the running ahead of Colonel Bogey and Alpine Honey. COLONEL BOGEY (2) has been in great form this campaign and given a let-up after a win here last time. Newitt aboard and has trialled well since. Expected to measure up again. CITY WOK (1) was a strong maiden winner fresh and can only be fitter. Has upside and worth following up. NUNKERI (5) was a narrow fourth two back then ran on well to place last time. Best form is here and drawn ideally this time. Close to a win and sure to prove hard to beat. BELLA CHINKARA (7) is ready to fire after two runs back. Has the ability and a bold showing is expected. LITTLE EL (3) is trialling well and everything points to a bright return.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Stick with Colonel Bogey.
8 03:49 DRC Season Opener Benchmark 64 Hcp 1150m
Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by The Real Man. Hard to fault THE REAL MAN (1) who comes into the race in line for a winning hat-trick. Was a length winner as favourite two back beating a few of these then a determined winner as favourite again here last time. Building a top record over the course and distance and looks tough to beat again. WILD NIGHTS (5) was doing her best work late last start to get up for third over 1100m at Hobart. All set to run well. VOLKANOVSKI (8) has a moderate winning strike rate but performed well last time at Hobart, finishing third and only 2 lengths from the winner at the end of 1000m after being in contention on the bend. Suitably placed so anticipating a big run this time. GEE GEES ME BOY (4) turned in a fair effort at Launceston over 1200m at his last run five months ago, finishing sixth and beaten 3 lengths. Two-time winner fresh and expecting an effective return. OZONICA (2) has claims if presented on song.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Follow in on The Real Man.
9 04:24 Meridian Horse Transport Class 3 Hcp 1650m
Coastal Strike and Purr Sefanee to take up the running at a strong tempo. RESPITE (3) is in form and worth following up. Building a good record here, winning here two back before a close-up sixth beaten two lengths last time off a wide draw. Freshened and has trialled since. Well worth another chance. AZONTO (1) settled well back then came home powerfully to score by 0.8 lengths over 1350m at this track last time out. Winning hope again here. COASTAL STRIKE (2) is racing well on the turf at Hobart but placed only try course and distance, which was three back when tried to lead throughout. Expected to take running down. AL MAXIMUS (4) is on the quick back-up and well back in trip. Has a solid record here and with the claim can improve sharply. PURR SEFANEE (6) has ability and is a solid top-three hope.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Stick with Respite.
