E SECURITY GROUP HANDICAP 1200m
Plenty of pace with Unhinged and Sprightly Affair leading from Yangzi River. LEONESSA (8) had a soft run back behind the speed then found the line just fairly over this course and distance recently. Very fit at the third run back and can do better in a race that lacks a great deal of depth. TENENBAUM (2) is back after a four-month spell. Opened last prep with an arrogant win over this distance at Wyong then disappointed at $1.22 in a Hawkesbury metro class race over 1400m. Clearly has ability and 1200m while fresh looks the right formula. YANGZI RIVER (7) scrambled home on debut at Kembla. J Mac takes the reins which will attract interest. SPRIGHTLY AFFAIR (6) is a promising filly whose three runs to date, all at provincial level, have been hard to fault. Ready for this sterner test. UNHINGED (4) is back for a second campaign. In the money at both runs to date and should make a positive return. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leonessa on top in an unappealing race. |

HEADWATER @ VINERY STUD HANDICAP 1250m
Small field without a bunny so it will turn into a sprint home. MADE IN ITALY (3) has collected a cheque at all six starts and returns for a third campaign. Beaten narrowly at the Kensington track second-up last prep so he is not out of place in city company. Back in trip this prep with blinkers on which is noteworthy. Double-figure odds in a field of six seems generous. CANTERO (2) settled at the tail of a small field then went through the gears nicely to grab second on debut a fortnight ago over 1200m here. Might race a bit closer from a better draw. Serious contender. DEFENSEMEN (1) has been freshened up since missing narrowly over 1400m at Randwick 46 days ago. Must be respected dropping back to midweek company. AFFARI (10) returned in good order here recently and is Waller's choice for J Mac to ride. Sure to be well found and is a genuine hope. PIEDMONT (13) did a good job on debut here last start. Should take a lot from that run. SUGGESTED PLAY: A little throw at the stumps - Made In Italy. |

2026 KEENELAND SEPTEMBER YEARLING SALE HANDICAP 1900m
Good pressure from the outset with Dubai Warrior, Standard Deviation and Champagne Hero taking up the running over Cheval De Bois and Fay's Angels. CHAMPAGNE HERO (1) scored convincingly two back over 1550m at the Kensington track. Took on Saturday grade last time and after settling a long way off the pace worked home fairly but was never a threat over the Randwick mile. Beaten three lengths at Listed level over 1800m last prep so getting to this longer journey looks the key. CHEVAL DE BOIS (3) went to the post as a $1.50 chance last start but after leading found a couple better in the concluding stages of a BM64 here at this trip. Gets a bit of weight relief in this tougher race. Should give a great sight. SUPREME SOVEREIGN (8) ran a better race but was still easily accounted for in third over 1600m at Warwick Farm last Wednesday. Fitter for three runs back from a spell and is a definite contender. FIOPROSPERO (7) didn't do a great deal in two Brisbane staying runs recently. Worth another chance coming back a little in trip. STANDARD DEVIATION (6) strips fitter second-up and looks ready to tackle this distance. SUGGESTED PLAY: Champagne Hero to bounce back and salute. |

TAB HANDICAP 1250m
A strong tempo is assured with Farfetched and Sphere leading the charge. YOU'RE THE CHOICE (11) has been narrowly beaten at both appearances this prep, the latest over 1200m at Gosford where she raced handy and just missed as even-money favourite. Should be peaking and drops 3.5kgs so this race sets up nicely. OVERTOOK (5) made it two wins from her last three outings when she edged out Jenni The Jet here at this distance a fortnight back. Lightly raced five-year-old mare who the market continues to underestimate. Big chance again. CAFE AU LAIT (4) returns from a four-month spell. Raced exclusively in Victoria last prep, the best effort a third over 1400m at Flemington. Will come on following this hit-out but she is talented enough to be competitive despite the lay-off. TOTOKA (7) missed the kick and gave away a huge start before flying late to get within a length over Overtook here two weeks ago. Right in contention but needs to get her manners right. Distance specialist ME ME (8) scored a tidy first-up win at Kembla and makes each-way appeal. SUGGESTED PLAY: You're The Choice to win. |

ASAHI SUPER DRY HANDICAP 1250m
Strong early tempo with The Little General and Castlejohn leading the way. RIVENDELL (3) found the front a long way from home then was swamped late to finish a close fourth when resuming over this course and distance last start. Lightly raced four-year-old who should tighten right up following that run and looks the testing material. HARRY'S EVIDENCE (6) started favourite and proved a shade too strong for The Little General when fresh from a spell over 1100m at this track last time out. Twice a winner at this distance so going up 150m holds no fears. Up in class but drops 2kgs and is a big chance again. CASTLEJOHN (5) started favourite and just got the cash when resuming over 1100m at Hawkesbury last start. Sparingly raced four-year-old with plenty more to come. THE LITTLE GENERAL (9) will run another bold race on a seven-day back-up. Early favourite PHANTOM MAJOR (8) impressed over 1200m here last time. Thought they might look for something longer than this but still a key runner. SUGGESTED PLAY: Rivendell each-way. |

RANVET HANDICAP 1100m
Strong early tempo with Zale and Miss Trentino leading the way. MISS TRENTINO (7) returned from an 11-month absence with an encouraging effort in a similar race here two weeks ago, only tiring in the shadows after racing up on the pace. Won three straight this time last year and looks ready to recapture that form. TAXATION (12) is back after a six-month break. Failed at the only run last prep when all was not right. Started at $3.70 against a class mare in Weeping Woman last November but was at the end of her prep and disappointed. Has plenty of talent and is a big market watch. MELANITE (5) overcame an awkward start to just get the cash over this distance in a Randwick Midway recently. That form should measure right up here. Draws the fence so another big run is likely. RUINATION (1) races for the first time in six months. Has always showed ability and is now a gelding so he might go to another level this prep. ZALE (3) is a model of consistency and can never be left out of a race like this. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Miss Trentino but wary of Taxation. |

HYLAND RACE COLOURS HANDICAP 1550m
Cobra Club has good early speed and can set a decent tempo. PIERATA'S GEM (8) has been handy enough on straightening but just lacked a killer blow at all three runs this prep, each time in Sydney Saturday grade. Takes a step back today and is cherry ripe. Looks a big danger although no placings from four runs on a heavy track is a slight concern - needs an upgrade. COBRA CLUB (4) was a big all-the-way winner two back at the Illawarra Grange circuit. Not too far away at Randwick last time which is decent form for a race like this. Another who will appreciate a track upgrade. ANDRON (10) didn't threaten last time out when fresh from an 11-month lay-off at Newcastle. Can improve sharply with that run under the belt over a bit more ground. RILEYCAT (9) finished just over a length away in a blanket finish over 1250m here recently. Looking for today's trip at the third run back. THREE ARROWS (5) is deep into the prep and still racing well. Will enjoy a nice trail and should be hard to hold out. SUGGESTED PLAY: Pierata's Gem to win if we get an upgrade, Andron if it stays heavy. |
