MORTGAGE LINK INSURANCE LINK 1200m
Expecting Congolian to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sharp trip. CONGOLIAN (1) had trialled up nicely prior to finishing runner-up on debut at Whanganui nearly 3 weeks ago. He will be better for the experience, and he won't have had to improve by much to be winning this. On top. YALDY TIME (3) had won both of his public trials very easily, and then finished fourth on debut in the same race as the top pick. His maiden win is not far away. TEEMOO (2) resumes from a spell that would have done him the world of good. He showed talent earlier in the year when racing on the West Coast, and he should continue to improve with racing this prep. Include. LA CHICA BELLA (8) was only bloused out late when finishing second on debut at Hastings nearly a month ago. A wide gate is against her in this, but she is still an each-way hope, especially on a heavy track. HIGH NOON (9) finished third in the same race as the top 2 picks, and she is also a top 4 chance despite drawing off the track. SUGGESTED PLAY: Congolian and Yaldy Time to make the quinella in this. |

GLADIATORS DARTS TEAM 1200m
Speed should be right on over the 1200m journey. GAME FACE (11) has yet to race up to her good trial form, and is resuming from a short spell as a stronger filly. She is bred to relish a wet track, and she has a chance to show her true ability fresh in this. Include. BEE PRECIOUS (7) raced greenly fresh up at Whanganui nearly 6 weeks ago and still managed to finish fourth. She was third on this track when making her debut, and she can be a quick improver. Each way. ALIYANA BELLE (6) is a slow-maturing mare who is resuming from a spell without any public trials. She finished second fresh up in January, and she will be ready to give this a shake. Check the market. ALPINE PRINCESS (9) has been thereabouts in all 4 runs to date, and she will benefit from a handy 2kg claim here. Include in all top 4 combos. SUGGESTED PLAY: Game Face each way. |

CLARRIE MUDGWAY MEMORIAL 1400m
Despite the wide draw Maranello has the dash to cross and lead a low-pressure contest. ENA SHARPLES (7) shows talent and was runner-up in her first 2 career starts on heavy tracks. She will be stronger now and would have attended the local jump-outs in her area leading into this. Watch closely, especially if the money comes for her. KIT ZAKAT (8) has been freshened up since her last start, sixth at Waverley nearly 6 weeks ago. She copes with wet ground, and even from a wide gate, she is a top 3 chance in this. PIXIE CARAMEL (10) is a lightly tried 6YO mare with some sound form behind her from last winter. She may need the run, but if the market says she is ready to run a race, then include her in all combos to be safe. KYANITE MAN (4) won a trial before needing his debut run over 1600m at Otaki 8 weeks ago. He had market support that day, so stick with him. OUR TEST (1) ran on nicely for second on debut at Trentham 9 days ago, and an extra 200m will be ideal for this promising gelding. His first win is not far away. SUGGESTED PLAY: Our Test each way. |

HARRISONS CARPET & FLOORING 1400m
Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by Jasper. VALVANO (15) needed his fresh-up run at Otaki, and he maps to receive a good run from his handy gate here. On top at value for us. BRUTIFUL LASS (6) ran on well late for fifth at Whanganui nearly 3 weeks ago, and did the same at Otaki before that. If she can hold her spot early on from a good gate, then she will be hard to hold out. Follow your money. MERKEL (8) ran her best race when fresh last prep at Trentham, finishing second by just over a length. She is stronger now, and with a recent trial under her belt, she can give this a shake. ENSIGN ARIA (9) needed her last start, and with less time between runs this time, she will be a quick improver. Top 4 value. FEINT TO EAST (11) has needed time to mature, and her trial form says she has enough ability to win a maiden race at short notice. Follow the market moves. SUGGESTED PLAY: Valvano can win this. |

DOUG HARRIS MEMORIAL 2100m
Pace genuine with Tick Tock Tessa booting up to lead. UNUSUAL SECRET (3) made his debut over 2200m at Hastings on a testing track there nearly a month ago, where he kept on trucking to finish a bold third. He will only improve with more racing, and despite a wide gate here, he can take this out. SATOMI (2) ran his best race yet when finishing runner-up at Hastings on a poorly prepared heavy track that day. He won't have any fitness concerns now, and in a field full of battlers, he can go one better. DERRYMAN (1) has raced his way into some good form, and even though his future is over the jumps, he can still win a race like this. BEAVERTOWN LASS (13) will be peaking third up, and stepping up from 1500m last time out to 2100m here is the key. Include in all top 4 combos. TICK TOCK TESSA (12) has gone off the boil in her last couple if starts, and she could be looking for this trip now. She is worth another chance. SUGGESTED PLAY: Unusual Secret each way. |

MACDOUGALLS WOODVILLE PAHIATUA CUP 2100m
Expecting Quid to take up the running with Jungleland and Semper Magico close at hand. QUID (6) is a very consistent and lightly tried gelding peaking third up from a spell. His last run was 5 weeks ago, but he races best with his runs well spaced out, so stick with him on an each-way basis. SWINGIT OUR WAY (8) needed his resuming run over a trip that was well short of his best at Trentham 9 days ago. The extra 700m is the key here, and she is worth including in all combos. PRINCESS ELLY (13) is far better than her form suggests, and she is not the worst at odds. DANJURO (9) just battled on a holding track at Whanganui last time out, and he is worth another chance in this, especially with the aid of a 2kg claim. IN A PICKLE (11) is heading the right way with his form, so stick with him. SUGGESTED PLAY: Princess Elly both at each-way value. |

MATT SPARROW CONTRACTING 1200m
Strong tempo assured from Littleredcorvette and Our Sassie Anne leading the charge. GREAT ESCAPE (3) continued with her consistent form when finishing runner-up by a head as a short-priced favourite fresh up at Otaki nearly 5 weeks ago. Her only win came on this track, and the extra 100m should be no trouble. Follow your money. BRIGIT (7) finished third behind the top pick in the same race last time out, and she will continue to get better with more racing. She may not want it too wet, but she is a must for all top 4 combos. PUDDLE OF MUDD (1) got too far back in a better field than this at Whanganui nearly 3 weeks ago, and he should race a lot more handily from a superior gate this time. Stick with him on an each-way basis. BALLROOM BLITZ (2) had 3 starts late last year before being put aside to wait for some heavy tracks. She will be ready to rumble fresh, so don't risk her. SUGGESTED PLAY: Great Escape should win. |

BRAESIDE FARM 1400m
They look to roll along early with Mr Jay Eight and Diomedes leading the charge. EIZUS (9) settled back from a wide gate when resuming at Otaki nearly 5 weeks ago and hit the line late, finishing fifth. She cops another tough draw, but if her top trainer lines her up, then she is ready to win. FLORIN (4) caught the eye with a late finish for fourth fresh up at Te Aroha just over a fortnight ago, and she normally improves quickly second up. She has won on this track in the past, and with a drop in grade, she can win this. RENOVATIONS (6) did not have much go her way in a decent field at Te Rapa last time out 6-days ago. The quick turnaround won't be an issue, and she is well worth another chance. Each way value. PINKERTON (8) finished runner-up when making his jumping debut at Trentham 9-days ago, and he will be sharpened up by that effort. He still retains enough dash on the flat to be very competitive in a field like this. SEVENAYES (1) can be hard to catch, but he has placed twice from as many starts on this track. Include. CATHERINENZ (10) has top 4 claims. SUGGESTED PLAY: Florin each way. |

SMITH AG 1600m
Pace strong with Tukituki and The Finnster leading with Spinayarn nearby. SACRED ZED (7) got back too far on a slow pace and battled on late for fifth as a hit favourite in an amateur riders' race at Whanganui nearly 6 weeks ago. He is perfectly placed in this BM60 contest, third up from a spell, and he should be among the hardest to beat. PERFECT PETE (5) has found it hard to win another race, but he will notice the dip in class here. His third at Whanganui 6-days ago was his best run this prep, and even from a wide gate, he can take this out. DON'S LEGACY (3) will be close to peak fitness third up, and the step up to 1600m is ideal. He benefits from a 2kg claim, and he would not surprise us if he wins this. THE FINNSTER (1) ran along boldly in front prior to blowing out of condition fresh up at Otaki. He may try to steal this. Include in all combos. SUGGESTED PLAY: Perfect Pete and Don's Legacy at each-way value here. |

AHV POWER SERVICES 1600m
Reasonable tempo with Craftsman probably leading but a few others should keep him honest. RIO GRANDE (5) is dropping back from a couple of recent modest efforts over 2100m, including his last start at Ellerslie less than 2 weeks ago. He cops a wide gate, but if he can find his form from last year, then he is good enough to run into the top 4 here. CRAFTSMAN (13) needed his fresh run for a new stable at Awapuni nearly 3 weeks ago on the poly track there, and his only placing came on this course second up last year. He may still be a maiden, but he is a top 4 chance in this. PINKER (2) had excuses fresh up when beaten out of sight, and he was much better at Whanganui 6 days ago when finishing a game runner-up. He has the pole position and can go one better. RITHIM (11) resumes from a spell, and her recent trial was not too bad. Include. RIOMOSA (3) is at his best when it is heavy, and he found 1200m too short last time out. Stick with him over 1600m in this. Each way value. SUGGESTED PLAY: Rio Grande each way. |
