NUM TIME COMMENT
1 12:25 Local Radio Station RPPFM 98.7 Handicap 1200m
Plenty of first starters engaged which muddies the map a little. It is fair to assume a keen tempo. Between a couple of winners, some city form and well-bred first starters looks like a strong race going forward. CENTENARY FLORIN (8) has race experience and perhaps more importantly not only a win but also on wet ground. Was a heavy track winner on debut then placed over 1400m. Freshened for the sharper trip and should run well. NITRO SONIC (5) was a winner this course and distance last time in soft going and can only be improved. AMBER SMILE (2) is a well-bred colt who is a relation to three-time Group 1 winner Forbidden Love. Very well educated and has won two of three most recent jumps-outs. Expected to measure up. ALPINE POINT (1) is a colt by Blue Point out of Aspen having first start. Fitter for two recent jump-outs and worth keeping safe.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Stay with Centenary Florin.
2 01:00 Vale Tony Simpson Plate 1200m
Blue Shield and Foxsky can be prominent. Tough race with plenty of chances. BLUE SHIELD (2) has placed two of two so far and looks hard to beat. Speedy type who is drawn well and will be in this for a long way again. LOTTA CITY (10) returned from a break here with a narrow second and can only be fitter. Placed 2/2 course and distance here at home and looks a top chance again. ALPHABET (8) has placed 3/5 so far and gets to 1200m for the first time. Has wound up strongly each run and strips fitter for a fresh-up placing. FOXSKY (6) is a local galloper who has also placed 3/5 and all three minors have been on rain-affected ground. Has the pace to go forward and will take catching.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Blue Shield will give a sight.
3 01:35 Harvey Norman Mornington Handicap 1000m
Solid tempo set by Divine Thoughts and Condor. Could make a case for half a dozen of them. NEXT STEP IOWA (11) was returning from a break last time out and proved too classy, scoring by 2 lengths over 1100m at Pakenham. Tricky gate but is a second-up winner, unbeaten soft ground and can only be improved. Will give a sight again. MAUNA KEA MISS (10) is a talented local who strips fitter and is well-weighted with the claim. CONFLICT (3) has ability and senior rider goes on. Will be winding up late. HARMONETT (4) is a local who put the writing on the wall last time and can feature in the finish again. Back from a let-up but has been kept ticking over with a trial and best form has been here at home.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Stay with Next Step Iowa.
4 02:10 Russell V Cleland Handicap 1000m
Plenty of speed runners engaged, with Logam, Wazing and Bold Suitor prominent. Another race with a myriad of chances. SATIN DIVA (12) returns and maps for a good run if the fence is ok. Placed 2/2 fresh and did win only try heavy. Has the low draw and the claim and should be parked ready to explode. LOGAM (3) is a two-start galloper with plenty of upside. Just missed on debut then off the mark with an on-pace win last time. Promising type with the blinkers added and is expected to measure up again. CHISHOLM (10) is building a handy record and has come back in top order. Returned with a course and distance win and can only be fitter. Worth following up. NIGHTIME STAR (5) has raced in tougher grade at first two from a break. Blinkers added and worth another chance. MEISHO (4) was a course and distance winner last time and with the claim will be very competitive again.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen on Satin Diva fresh.
5 02:45 Jim Marconi Handicap 1200m
Solid tempo with Royal Lass leading from Hot Chips and Dollar Shot. Race is probably deeper than it looks at first glance. DELICATE LADY (5) resumed in town and was solid then just missed at Caulfield Heath last time. Fitter, returns to home circuit and loves the soft tracks. Gets chance. DOLLAR SHOT (2) resumed from a long break with a ninth at Pakenham but the run was much better than it looks. Was deep without cover throughout and not surprise to tire late. Beaten only three lengths but fitter and drops in weight for this. Can improve sharply. ELECTRIC STAR (6) is hard to knock winning last two in easier but returns home and is one of the better chances. ROYAL LASS (1) strips a lot fitter and will find this much easier.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Delicate Lady looks ready.
6 03:20 Barmah Park Restaurant and Cellar Door Handicap 1600m
Solid tempo likely from Calypso King and Savamoon. IMPONDERABLE (14) gave a sight second-up and was just nabbed late when runner-up over a mile at Seymour. Fitter for two runs back and worth noting last time third up, also at the mile, found winning form. Looks ready to win and appeals as a leading prospect. THE DEVIL IN HER (7) had a year off before returning with an eye-catching fourth last time, beaten just a long neck in a four way drive to the line at Caulfield Heath. Yet to fire second-up but will go close this line-up if repeats that fresh rating. Can only be fitter and will be hard to hold out here. PRINCING (8) was fourth fresh then improved to finish runner-up latest. Is a third-up winner and should be in the finish again. CALYPSO KING (11) is ready to win.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Imponderable gets chance.
7 03:55 Devilbend Golf Club Handicap 2000m
My Roca Fella and Gregolimo will press forward in a keen battle for the lead. AMLETO (5) looks ideally placed to find winning form. Beaten a head fresh over 1700m in a high rating race at Warrnambool then beaten less than a length over 2000m latest racing on speed. Ready to win and expected to go close. ALMAIRAC (8) is at top after four runs in. Long time since a win but hasn't been far away, the latest a fourth over 2400m at Sandown. Overdue for a win and looks hard to hold out. OAK BEACH (11) was a close-up fourth when third-up from a break and is another at top now. Yet to win on soft tracks but well placed here and looks tough to stop. FURTHEREST POINT (12) is one to watch closely. Just four career starts but all four good over a trip and from a yard renowned for having them ready fresh. Very wary. SHAHZAD (7) was well off best last time but the start prior was placed in a very high rating race at the Bool when beaten half a length and that form is good for this. Senior rider goes on and can improve sharply.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Stay with Amleto.
8 04:30 Theo Howe Handicap 1200m
Expecting Brandjam to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sprint course. Terrific finish originally with plenty of win chances but the scratchings have taken some of the better hopes out. With that in mind looks a great chance for PRANCING SPIRIT (4) to find best. Talented galloper from the in-form Stokes yard who has been thereabouts without winning and is well placed this line-up. Placed 3/3 course and distance and will be close to the pace. Should run well. FLYING MIKKI (3) scored a big win from the tail last time and looks tough to stop again. ALLINTHETIMING (7) is another with a big finish and will be winding up late. FLYING VALLEY (1) returns from a break and is aided by the claim. Has won fresh and returns on the back of a second in a trial. Best form is soft ground and should run well.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Prancing Spirit gets chance.
