NZB WEANLING SALE SELLING TODAY MAIDEN 1200m
Expecting Poshroc to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sprint course. CAPTAIN ROY (1) finished late for third fresh up when making his South Island debut here just over 2 weeks ago. He will hopefully settle a lot closer this time from a superior gate, and he is the one to beat for us in a thin field. Follow your money. ENCHANTED DELIGHT (3) showed glimpses of ability last year, and she will be a lot stronger now. She has form on this surface, and she can figure in the top 4. TAIMATE WARRIOR (5) fought on gamely for third at Oamaru 11 days ago, and won't lack any fitness. A good draw should see her in the finish again. BONANZA (6) has shown talent at the trials and meets the right sort of field on debut. Use the market as the best guide. SUGGESTED PLAY: Captain Roy to win. |

GRAND NATIONAL TICKETS ON SALE NOW OPEN HANDICAP 1200m
The pace looks even at best given a lack of early speed. BOSS 'N' HIGHHEELS (6) will be suited by the small field, and with the step up to open class, she will carry the minimum 54kg here. She handles the poly track and should go close to taking this out. MOTIONTIME (3) beat a very smart poly track performer 6 weeks ago, and that form has since been franked. She is meeting a similar field, and can make it back-to-back wins. VIVACIOUS (4) finished fourth behind the top pick the last time they met, and she meets her on better terms at the weights this time. A good draw should see her right in the finish again. LA BELLA NERA (2) peaked on her run when resuming at Oamaru 11 days ago, and she has performed well on the poly track here in the past. She had throat surgery during her spell, and she will be looking to make up for a modest campaign earlier in the season. She has a good gate and should be a quick improver. THIRD DECREE (1) was not far away here 6 weeks ago, and this is her pet trip. Include in all top 4 combos. SUGGESTED PLAY: Boss 'N' Highheels to win. |

GRANDSTAND EATERY IN THE PHAR LAP RATING 75 2200m
Peecee Pussycat to take the lead and control the tempo. PROSERVE (3) had no chance last start when passively ridden from a wide gate, and then plugging on in a sprint home. He loves the poly track here, and the small field will greatly enhance his chances. A form reversal is on the cards. SAINT BRIGID (4) hit peak fitness third up at Oamaru 11 days ago and was far too good for BM65 company over this trip. She has won at Cambridge on a similar surface, and with 2kg less to carry, she can repeat the dose. PEECEE PUSSYCAT (1) showed a bit more fight when ridden in front at Oamaru last time out, and hopefully, he is ridden in the same manner here. A 3kg claim should help him maintain his form here. MR BULLY TEE (2) will be backing up quickly from his last start eighth here over 1600m on the turf 5-days ago. The extra 600m will suit him, and he can figure in the top 3. SUGGESTED PLAY: Proserve to win. |

SPEIGHT'S SUMMIT ULTRA ON TAP MAIDEN 1600m
Warrior Boy can slide across and take up the running in a race devoid of early pace. WARRIOR BOY (4) ran along far too quickly in front here as the favourite just over 2 weeks ago, and understandably faded in the run to the line. He is reunited with regular hoop Sima Mxothwa, who will take 3kg off his back, and he is worth another chance. Follow your money. RESERVOIR (2) finished less than a length from the winner as the favourite here, fresh up 15 days ago, and he will carry a kilo less this time. He strips fitter and can take this out. TUSSAR (3) stepped up to 1600m for the first time and turned his form around by finishing runner-up by less than a length. He faces a similar lineup and is capable of going one better. BAGGIO (5) travelled strongly here last start, and loomed like the winner before finishing third 9 days ago. He is long overdue, and one day, when the penny finally drops, he could probably win more than one race. Only for the loyal. FAH RONG (1) has been improving on the poly surface, and he put the writing on the wall last time out. Stick with him. SUGGESTED PLAY: Warrior Boy can take this out. |

ENTAIN/NZB INSURANCE PEARL SERIES 1400m
Pinky Pie to take charge ahead of Ayumi at a good tempo. AYUMI (3) made her South Island debut as the favourite here nearly a month ago, and faded very late in the piece to finish fifth. She will carry 2kg less this time, thanks to a claim, and she should be very hard to beat, even with the step up to 1400m from a tricky gate. Follow your money. PINKY PIE (9) makes her South Island debut after losing form in some handy maiden fields up North earlier in the season. She has gone close to winning a race in the past, and she did win a Waverley trial earlier in the month. She is the main threat to the top pick, and she is close to breaking through. RUSSIAN BLUES (5) has been placed in 3 of her 4 starts since relocating to the South Island, including all 3 on this circuit. Stick with her on an each-way basis. PRIVATE TREATY (2) has been narrowly beaten in 2 of her last 4 starts, and she has been trying to win a race for some time. She drops in trip, but has been freshened, so don't risk her. OUR SALLYANN (1) has to be respected as well. Include. SUGGESTED PLAY: Ayumi can win, and so can Pinky Pie. |

THE PAVILION OPENING NOVEMBER 2026 RATING 65 1200m
Lots of speed predominantly from Holdem, Mr Fortrus and Giannis. MR FORTRUS (1) has a mind of his own, and he has since relocated to the South Island after a couple of modest efforts to round off his last prep. He comes to hand quickly and will drop down in class for his resuming run. He has not been seen at any public trials, and if he doesn't need the hit-out, then he is the one to beat. THATS CHARMING (7) has raced his way back into form since returning to the poly course here, and he caught the eye with a big late finish for second in BM60 company just over 2 weeks ago. He drops 5.5kg after a 3kg claim, and he should be hard to beat. HOLDEM (4) resumes from a spell, and she saves her best for this poly surface. Tina Comignaghi has picked up the ride, and her stable has just hit some form. Follow any market leads. INTO THE WIND (2) franked her impressive trial win by scoring fresh up here 15 days ago. He has the pole position again, and he can take the next step immediately. JACK ATTACK (8) should be ready to show some good form fourth up. SUGGESTED PLAY: Mr Fortrus can win if he is ready. |

CUP WEEK HOSPITALITY ON SALE 29 JUNE RATING 60 2200m
Cutout and Bernardo to roll forward and dictate the tempo. BERNARDO (1) makes his poly track debut after making the move recently to join a South Island stable. His last run was nearly 4 weeks ago over 2040m at Whanganui, so he won't lack fitness, and with a drop to BM60 grade, he will be hard to beat. NEW BEGINNING (5) won a trial prior to finishing in the money twice in as many starts this prep. She maps to receive the run of the race, and stepping up an extra 600m is the ideal next step at this stage of her campaign. Stick with her. SINCERE (3) made up late ground over this trip on the turf at Oamaru 11 days ago, and he is usually better on the poly here. He has not won for some time, but he does have each-way claims at this level. ADIOS VAMONOS (7) should be at her peak fitness fourth up, and she will relish getting out this trip for the first time. Include in all top 4 combos. CORRECTION (2) drops back in class from a poor run at BM75 level here last start over 1600m. He is worth another chance over a more suitable, longer journey. SUGGESTED PLAY: Bernardo can win this. |

RACECOURSE HOTEL & MOTOR LODGE RATING 65 1600m
They look to roll along early with Lucky Ferrando and Epilogue leading the charge. MY SHARONA (2) was only nudged out by a short-head fresh up here at the end of April over 1400m, and then found that trip too short for her last time out, running on too late for seventh. The extra 200m is the key, and she can have the last say this time. WREN (4) followed up an overdue win with a gutsy third, beaten less than a length just over 2 weeks ago. She is in a good space and can figure in the top 3 again. KOPUTAROA (3) has been building his fitness levels, and should be close to his peak fourth up from a spell. He maps to settle a touch closer than usual from the pole position, and he could be one to bolster any top 4 combos. FREEDOM REINS (10) only battled on the turf here 9 days ago when following on from a pair of minor placings on this poly course. A good draw and a 3kg claim will help her bounce straight back into the money here. WINTER BLAZE (7) has been unsuited by racing over some shorter trips recently. She steps up to 1600m, and is not out of this. Each way. SUGGESTED PLAY: My Sharona can win, and Winter Blaze at some each-way value. |
