ARROWFIELD COUNTRY BOOSTED SHOWCASE MAIDEN HANDICAP 1400m
Genuine tempo with Dunquin leading the way. DUNQUIN (1) has his hoof on the till at start three from the better gate. Showed good early speed from the outside barrier with a fighting on-pace fourth over 1350m at Wyong in a Super Maiden. Back in class and expected to go close. MONUMENTAL (3) So You Think gelding from a Fastnet Rock mare on debut for the Messara & Gavranich stable. Has shown ability in both his trials and will appreciate the 1400m on debut. Look for him to close well. COURSE OF ACTION (2) Exceedance gelding from the good producing mare Sacred Choice on debut for the Cavanough yard. Wasn't pushed out in the two trials and must be kept safe from the good barrier. SPEEDY PETE (4) came out fast and the early told late with a tiring fifth over 1400m at Armidale. On the quick back-up and gets a better set-up for this. Value player. SUGGESTED PLAY: Dunquin can get off the mark at start three. |

COOLMORE COUNTRY BOOSTED BENCHMARK 58 SHOWCASE HANDICAP 1400m
Expecting a strong tempo with Set To Prophet, Mellencamp and Be Guided going forward ahead of Hammoon Sensation and Yacht Girl. YACHT GIRL (9) three weeks between runs when snagged back from the wide gate to close late with an encouraging fifth over 1450m at Muswellbrook. Earlier runs had merit and gets her chance with the key jockey change. OLYMPIAN (4) nice gelding who rounded them up with ease at his second race start with a slick Maiden win over 1280m at Muswellbrook. Bred to get this trip and further with map favours here. Go close. SMART LILY (11) played up before the start and failed to get into the contest with a poor eighth over 1400m at this track. Fitter now and earlier runs had merit. Improver. BE GUIDED (7) progressive mare who crossed from an outside draw at her second run back with a game Maiden victory over 1300m at Dubbo. Poorly drawn again and not to be underestimated. SUGGESTED PLAY: Yacht Girl and Olympian shapes the two leading chances. |

KIA ORA BENCHMARK 82 SHOWCASE HANDICAP 1100m
Cool Storm has good early speed and can set a decent tempo. INAZUMA BOY (1) exciting sprinting gelding who keeps raising the bar. Stalked the speed from the good gate with a slick 2.5 len victory over 1100m at Dubbo as favourite. Will handle the rise in weight from the low draw and measure up again. COOL STORM (4) failed to keep up on resumption with a battling seventh over 900m at Muswellbrook. Undefeated at this track and can bounce back over her pet trip. THE EXTREME CAT (2) tough gelding back in grade and can sprint well fresh. Primed for this with the two good trials and look for him charging late. ONYSPEED (9) showed blistering speed from the wide barrier before folding up in the straight to finish eighth over 1400m at Mudgee in the CDRA Champs. Back in trip and gets a better set-up for this. SUGGESTED PLAY: Inazuma Boy can keep the winning momentum going. |

MAGIC MILLIONS SHOWCASE MAIDEN PLATE 1200m
Just a modest pace in store without noted speed runners engaged. TUPAKARA (12) Group-placed filly who looks well placed at this level first-up. Came to the end of her prep when fifteenth in the G3 Tbred Club over 1200m at Caulfield last November. Wasn't pushed out in the two trials and brings a superior set of figures here. HARRY'S BOY (6) So You Think gelding from Tarquinn Shadow on debut for the Rodney Northam yard. Closed strongly in his only Scone trial when second over 800m. Leading contender from the draw. OAKFIELD ALASKA (8) Better Than Ready gelding from Believe 'n Achieve on debut for the Scott Singleton yard. Impressed in his last two trials on his home track here. Gets map favours and sure to be thereabouts. FORTHEO (2) ran on late at his first run back with a handy third to Olympian over 1280m at Muswellbrook in a Super Mdn. Maps well and can take a hand in the finish. SUGGESTED PLAY: Tupakara would prove too strong for these. |

DARLEY SUPER MAIDEN SHOWCASE HANDICAP 1000m
Many of these step out for the first time so a genuine tempo is expected. DINGLE GREY (4) resumes after circling the field with a fast finishing second over 1000m at Port Macquarie on debut. Fitted with the one sound trial placing over 800m at Hawkesbury. Tongue-tie goes on and will prove hard to stop in this company. LORD REMLAP (2) Star Turn gelding from Devolving on debut for the Scott Singleton yard. Impressed in his three latest trials and gets his chance on the home track. WHITTELLO SUN (6) locally trained gelding who returns for his second campaign. Expected to have improved over the break and his lone trial here was sharp. Each-way prospect. REIGN 'EM IN (10) Time To Reign filly from Princess Emmy on debut for the Archibald yard. Fitted with the four trials and given plenty of time to develop. Gets her opportunity from the good barrier. VINERY CLASS 2 SHOWCASE HANDICAP 1100m
Solid tempo with several going forward headed by Button Up. MCLOVIN (13) sharp improver at his second run back when jumped in trip for a game fourth over 1400m at Tamworth. Drops in trip and weight from the good barrier with the key jockey change. Value prospect. SOMERTON SMART (5) resumes for his second prep. Undefeated in two starts after gapping his rivals by big margins in easier grade. Returns with the one 900m trial win and can overcome the wide gate with the claim. Leading prospect. HONEY PERFUME (4) returned off the long break with a slashing second over 1000m at Hawkesbury in a good rating contest. Fitter now from the low draw and expected to go close. SHOTGUN BELLA (7) underrated mare resuming. Stretched out to the 1600m last prep at provincial level and must be kept safe with the good fresh record. Strong trial winner over 1000m at Wyong. Stays in the mix. SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Quinella 13,5,4,7. |

YARRAMAN PARK BENCHMARK 66 SHOWCASE HANDICAP 1600m
Not much early pressure but Otium, Off The Scale and The Manager can take up forward spots. Tough contest with plenty of chances. SOUTHERN SKY (13) deep into the campaign and going better than her recent form suggests. Battled in the heavy (9) conditions with a close-up fifth over 1600m at Kembla Grange in BM64 class. Can race a little closer in a contest devoid of speed and sure to be thereabouts. ANTILOCAPRA (11) is poorly drawn again after failing to run on with a battling seventh over 1450m at Muswellbrook. Home track suits and racing like she will relish the extra ground. ZUCCHERO (9) returns from a 48-day let-up and best form is at this track. Chipped away late from the sticky gate with a plugging tenth over 1500m at Rosehill in Highway grade. Since fitted with a 1000m trial at this course. Look for him launching late. PINOT NERO (10) up sharply in distance with a plugging fourth over 2000m at Taree. Fitter now and deserves another chance. SUGGESTED PLAY: Southern Sky each-way. |

EVERGREEN TURF NORTHERN COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS WILD CARD 1400m
Genuine pace with Pony Soprano taking up the running ahead of Punch One Out and Pensativa. CLEAR THINKING (4) Kosciuszko winner who returned off the one trial with a fading ninth over 1290m at Muswellbrook in the H&NW Champs from the sticky gate. Gives the impression she can run a strong 1400m with cover back in the field. Hard to hold out. SCRIPTED (13) comes here in peak condition and steps up to this trip for the first time. Recent runs in Queensland have been sound and not without genuine top-three claims. LUNAITE (14) lightly raced mare who comes to hand quickly. Savaged the line first-up with a game fifth over 1200m at Port Macquarie in the MNC Champs. Can race a little closer from the draw with the winkers going on. Well placed to take this out. UPWARDLY MOBILE (6) has a good record on her home track and going better than her current price suggests. Drawn to stalk the speed and not to be overlooked. The chances don't end there. SUGGESTED PLAY: Clear Thinking looks set to bounce back. |
