GEORGE TAYLOR MEMORIAL MAIDEN 1300m
Solid tempo with Ziolite possessing enough dash to find the front. COSMIC WALTZ (3) finished off strongly from back in the pack to finish 2.3L off the winner as the race favourite at Albany. Drawn inside again today can see him much closer than last start and his run here two back was brilliant. Can knock over the maiden win here. HELLO VENETA (7) is now third-up into the campaign and showed good improvement last start at Bunbury. Out to 1300m now looks a good move based on her breeding and it wouldn't surprise to see her improve drastically. She makes plenty of appeal third-up from an inside draw. ZIOLITE (8) was no match for the winner on debut but stuck on well to finish in third on debut. Straight out in trip now and remains down in the weights after the claim. Include. SO MANY STORIES (6) can improve getting out in trip today. KILDANGAN PRINCE (4) is next best. SUGGESTED PLAY: Cosmic Waltz gets the nod in the opener. |

MICHELLE PARSONS MEMORIAL MAIDEN 1100m
Reasonable tempo with Longtimebeliever probably leading but a few others should keep her honest. RIVER BEAUTY (7) settled midfield last start but couldn't fire a short at Bunbury last time out. Drawn a little better this time around and stepping up in trip now may hold the key. Can sit just off the speed and get the job done in a suitable race. LONGTIMEBELIEVER (6) stuck on well last start over this trip at Albany after a good run at Narrogin when favourite two back. Faithfull remains in the saddle and she has enough speed to get across from the draw. Can put her best foot forward. SINK 'EM FAST (10) finds a suitable race on debut here and will be fitter for a recent trial coming into this. Riordan's claim comes in handy and she can put her best foot forward. REGGIO CALABRIA (1) has the speed to get across from out wide and can be in this for a long way. TASMAN JEWEL (8) will appreciate this easier company today and his recent trial was solid. Won't be far away. SUGGESTED PLAY: River Beauty can get the job done. |

RACING WA PROVINCIAL SERIES HEAT 1300m
Vomo Island is expected to lead at a keen tempo. GINGERQUEST (6) has been impressive in recent runs, winning three back and being close in his runs since. His effort last start in stronger company was impressive and he's a track and trip winner here previously. The one to beat despite dropping in distance. VOMO ISLAND (1) stuck on well in stronger company last start after a strong effort two back at Albany when leading. He can find the front again from an inside draw today and Mahony has a strong record when riding. Can make his presence felt. FLYING SOUTH (2) hasn't been far away his past couple but his runs over a similar trip to this earlier this campaign stack right up. Likely to get back in the run but can finish with a strong burst. SECRET STONES (3) was too good here last time out and has to be included as he looks for the hat-trick. IMPOSING BROOK (4) rates highly on recent form and won't be far away. SUGGESTED PLAY: Gingerquest gets the nod. |

MOUNT BARKER TRANSPORT HANDICAP 1850m
Expecting Polyvanova to take up the lead at a genuine tempo. POLYVANOVA (1) has been gunned down in the shadows her past couple, finishing 0.5L off the winner at Ascot most recently. She'll be able to roll across and dictate from the front for O'Donnell and the 3kg claim comes in handy. She'll be tough to run down. SAFARI BOY (2) got a long way back last start but finished off well in a close finish, being 1.5L off the winner. Back in trip slightly, though that won't be an issue and he was a good winner when able to sit closer two back. Can be handier again today from the draw and looks the key chance with Faithfull on board. LORDGIVEMESTRENGTH (7) was too far back last start at 1500m after a strong effort from the front here two back. Can be up on the speed again this time around and a bold showing is on the cards. SKY GOD (5) finally draws a good gate and should get every chance out to this trip. HOT CHATTER (8) can be in the mix stepping out in trip today. SUGGESTED PLAY: Polyvanova looks the one to beat. |

THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS HANDICAP 1000m
Queen Of Hawks and Dynamite Bay will press forward in a keen battle for the lead. QUEEN OF HAWKS (4) jumped favourite in a CL5 at Geraldton last start but was a touch disappointing out to 1200m. Back to 1000m here looks ideal from a good draw and with the in-form Nottle on board. Can sit on the speed and prove too good. PRINCE (2) got the job done here 21 days ago when landing midfield and running over the top as the race favourite. The wide draw is a niggle here, but Faithfull remains with him and he still has some upside being a lightly raced gelding. Can repeat the dose. GOD HAS DRIFTED (3) is first-up here and has trialled nicely coming into this. Usually better over further, but if he runs up to the recent trial, he'll be in the finish. KAMAKAZI SHOOTER (6) can be in the finish on resumption despite landing here without a trial. FANTAXTIC (7) is sure to be flying late in the race as he has done his past couple. SUGGESTED PLAY: Queen Of Hawks can bounce back to winning ways. |

WELLINGTON & REEVES MOUNT BARKER CUP 2000m
Strong tempo to be established by What A Prince, Mister Popcorn and Annihilator. MISTER POPCORN (7) couldn't sustain the run last start at Ascot and comes back to 2000m today. His run two back at Albany was superb and he should be able to land up front from the inside draw. Easier race here today and he can return to winning form. DUCHEES DEMERIT (5) missed in a photo finish here last start over the 1850m journey and looks set for this third-up into the campaign. His third-up record is great, he draws ideally and Faithfull sticks with him. Can go one better this time around. DEADLY AND FAST (4) won two back before a narrow defeat last start over the 1850m journey, ending up behind Duchees Demerit. Back out in trip now should suit him better and another forward showing is on the cards WHAT A PRINCE (1) was very impressive last time out and has to be included on the back of that effort. STRIKING FELLA (9) is knocking on the door in recent runs and can be thereabouts once more. SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Mister Popcorn in the Cup. |

PLANTAGENET HOTEL HANDICAP 1200m
Genuine pace with Boab Boy taking up the running ahead of Village Girl and Private Sapling. VILLAGE GIRL (6) stuck on well behind the smart Oxbridge last time out and rates highly on the back of that performance. Winkers replace the blinkers today and out to 1200m again looks perfect. Ready to explode now. ZING TO WIN (1) will appreciate the claim of Cheung after finishing 1L off the winner at Geraldton last time out. Should be able to lob in a handy position from the draw and another forward showing is expected. STORM COMMANDER (5) just missed off a freshen last start at Albany, coming through that same Oxbridge race as Village Girl. That form looks strong for this event and if he can handle the rise to 1200m today, he'll be hard to hold out. PLAY DICE (8) may be able to sit a touch closer today from an inside draw and is not to be discounted. BOAB BOY (2) can be in the finish first-up. SUGGESTED PLAY: Village Girl gets the nod in the last. |
