NUM TIME COMMENT
1 01:40 NORTH COAST MARBLE & GRANITE COUNTRY BOOSTED MAIDEN PLATE 1509m
Just a moderate pace anticipated. PEAR BELLINI (7) jumps in trip on the quick backup after finishing a close-up fifth over 1250m at Taree. Gets the gun run with the key jockey change. Hard to hold out. ARGERICH (4) failed to figure on the quick backup with a plugging sixth over 1400m at Taree. Assess on her good fourth two starts back. No shock to see her return to form. PATHELIA (6) returned over the unsuitable trip with a struggling fifth over 1300m at Armidale. Fitter this time and can take a hand in the finish. FINDING ELLE (5) gets a better set-up for this and assess on earlier efforts.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Pear Bellini can shed her Maiden status.
2 02:20 GREAT NORTHERN HOTEL KEMPSEY CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE 1812m
Pace only fair with Legin rolling to the lead ahead of Gold Something and Bold Splendor. KAHRABA (9) handy mare who should prove too good for these. Went back from the wide draw and circled the field with a tenacious sixth over 1625m at Wyong. Has the class to take care of this field and proven at the trip. CASTELLE (8) bounced off her good first-up third with a dominant Maiden win over 1500m at this track. Will have little trouble running the trip and confidence is high. SMOKEY SAINT (6) chipped away late from back in the field with a plugging seventh over 1500m at this track. Ready for this and not to be underestimated. LONE STAR DREAM (3) produced a handy set of figures when breaking his Maiden status over 1600m at Tamworth. Starting to hit his straps and not to be underestimated. BOLD SPLENDOR (7) has her hoof on the till fourth-up after finishing in the minor money at her last two starts.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Kahraba can score a long overdue victory.
3 03:00 MACQUARIE SIGNS F&M MAIDEN PLATE 1106m
Just a moderate tempo headed by Euroka Abby, Whiskers and Sosueme. SOSUEME (4) lightly raced mare having her first start for the Godbolt yard. Taken back from the wide barrier and made up a little ground late with an even fifth over 1000m at Muswellbrook. Has a host of gear changes from the soft draw. Expected to play a leading role. EMBODIMENT (6) King's Legacy filly from Epitomise on debut for the Kris Lees yard. Shown ability in the three trials and the blinkers go on. Big watch. MAGATAMA (9) has shown enough at the trials to suggest she can run a big race on debut. Has to be kept safe. Fellow debutant NAUTICAL TWILIGHT (10) should also be included.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Quinella 4,6,9,10.
4 03:40 HARELEC CLASS 3 HANDICAP HEAT OF THE RISING STAR 1509m
Spandex and Dark Chill have the pace to take up the running at a solid tempo. ROCKBARTON ANGEL (4) well drawn for this and can continue the winning momentum. Peaked fourth-up with a comfortable on-pace win over 1400m at Newcastle. Can handle the steep weight rise and take stopping again. DARK CHILL (2) was a month between runs when he shouldered the 61kg for a fading eighth over 1400m at Armidale. Can return to form with the claim from the good gate. Each way player. SPANDEX (6) capable on his day and can improve sharply at his third run back. Set a decent clip early before folding up in the straight to finish seventh over 1400m at Newcastle. Proven at the trip and worth another chance. HIGHLY TEMPTED (5) claim helps and not to be overlooked.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Rockbarton Angel to fight it out.
5 04:20 PORT CRANES CG&E MAIDEN PLATE 1106m
Night Agent will stride forward but there are few debutants who can keep him honest. DUNQUIN (5) Farnan gelding from Downtown Manhattan on debut for the Liam Ruddy yard. Has shown ability in his last two trials and ticks a few boxes with the blinkers going on. Expected to go close. NIGHT AGENT (10) resumes. Flopped badly on debut as fav when he raced keenly in the early stages before fading to finish last over 1200m at Canterbury last September. Returns with the two trials and this looks a good starting point. Leading player despite drawing out. JUVENAL (9) Extreme Choice gelding out of Serious Satire on debut for the Price/Kent yard. Has impressed in the last two trial placings in town and kicks off in a winnable contest. THUNDER LIGHTS (12) All Too Hard gelding out of Invincible Thunder on debut for the Buchanan stable. Has shown enough in the two trials to warrant serious consideration. HE'S COOL (2) resumes after having mixed success last time in. Placed at Newcastle first-up last time in and the lone trial win looked sound. Can stalk the speed and play a role.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Quinella 5,10,9,2.
6 04:55 FISHERS PLUMBING PLUS BENCHMARK 74 HANDICAP 1106m
Expecting Sneaky Sofia to take up the running with Pratt and Supreme Command close at hand. PRATT (6) sharp gelding who looks to be back on track after shouldering the 60kg with a tough on-pace second over 1100m at this track. Will appreciate the claim again and can get the job done today. PONY SOPRANO (5) talented gelding who resumes with an excellent fresh record. Raced with distinction in Highway company last prep and looked to have plenty up the sleeve in both trial placings. Leading player. HEIR APPARENT (1) showed good early dash before fading to finish seventh over 1100m at this track. Drops further in weight and proven at this track and trip. BUCK PHAROAH (2) caught the eye in his two runs back and doesn't have to improve much to take a hand in the finish.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Pratt has the upside to go one better.
7 05:35 LAURIETON HOTEL COUNTRY BOOSTED BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1206m
Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by All Too Rosey. AYE AYE SKIPPER (3) holding his form and will appreciate the big class drop from the low draw. Handled the rise in grade with a close-up fifth over 1250m at Taree in C$ company. Deep into the prep and finds his race. WANJINA ROSE (4) tough old mare who retains her zest for racing. Savaged the line from the wide gate with a narrow second over 1183m at Grafton. Has a good record over this track and trip and due for a change of luck. COCO DREAMING (2) in need of the run from the lengthy break with a plugging seventh over 1000m at Ballina. Will appreciate the extra journey and stays in the mix with the 3kg claim. Look for her launching late. DIRTY DOES IT (9) improved sharply at start seven with a dominant Maiden victory over 1100m at this track. Maps well and expected to be thereabouts again. MAGGIE SPARKLES (13) slow into stride and never looked a genuine chance with a battling fifth over 1400m at Taree. Firmer surface helps and assess on the minor placing two-back.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Aye Aye Skipper is expected to salute.
