NUM TIME COMMENT
1 02:45 Race 1 1400m
SKY RISE (1) progressed nicely last time out to finish under a length from the winner in second over this track and trip. Well placed and there is no reason she cannot find winning ways. HAMA WOLF (2) ran a much better race at his second outing last start to finish second here. Likely improver with strong prospects. BEAR ASUMUI (8) could only manage fifth over this course and distance last time following a minor placing on debut the run before. Strong figure from the debut is the right form reference. HIDEGAMI QUEEN (7) has Ryo Novata going aboard after she was well held last time out in sixth over 1500m at Funabashi. Nicely placed to turn things around.
2 03:15 Race 2 900m
PARKOUR CHEKO (11) went to the lead from the low draw last time out and was still there on straightening, fighting on gamely to finish second over 800m at Urawa. Rates highly and will be hard to peg back. ANGE GRACE (7) progressed nicely last time out to finish just a neck from the winner in second also over 800m at Urawa. Tackling a more suitable race so she is a major player. NOBO IMPACT (5) returns. Started the last campaign in fine fashion when in the placings over this track and trip. Lines up today for the first time for trainer Yutaka Nagatomo. Looks one of the genuine hopes. SARASA EMPEROR (12) also returns from and is having their first run for a new yard. Finished rearward at Tokyo Dirt over 1300m when first-up last time in work. This is much easier and he deserves more respect.
3 03:55 Race 3 1500m
Hard to separate them. GIGLIO (7) led all the way to score as favourite on debut over 1400m at this track five weeks ago. Has plenty of upside and can win again. MONGE TIME (2) was a determined maiden winner last time out, scoring by a length over 1400m here. Still has plenty of scope for improvement and is a great chance to go back-to-back. MY BOND (10) is another that impressed last start when making very light work of his rivals here. Obviously tougher this time but there's no reason he can't go on with the job. FEITIAN (11) is another last-start winner, scoring by a head here. Has upside and is another one of the chances.
4 04:25 Race 4 900m
LALA ROIDESANIMAUX (10) returns from a break of six-and-a-half months. Consistent performer last prep whose most recent appearance resulted in a second here. Is a noted fresh performer and looks sure to be in the finish first-up. CIRCE ROSSO (9) wasn't far off maiden success before a break, finishing the campaign with a minor placing over this track and trip. Commenced last prep with a minor placing here and has never missed the frame over this course and distance from five attempts. Have to take seriously. VOID (1) is knocking on the door and doesn't have to improve much to be involved in the finish. KREISLER (2) last appeared over 1200m at Chukyo Dirt when finishing rearward. This is a much more suitable assignment for her first run for the Naoyuki Akiyama stable. Don't dismiss easily.
5 04:55 Race 5 1600m
FLUGEL KU (7) broke through for his maiden win over 2000m at Urawa last time, scoring by 1.5 lengths. Drops back in trio but shapes up nicely and he is sure to go well again. SUN CAPRICE (3) finished out of the money but was not too far away when resuming last start over 1500m at Urawa. Second-up record is strong. Expecting a bold showing. SUNAONA KIMOCHI (2) performed above expectations last time here, getting the prize by a neck. Carries upside and can feature in the finish again. PERCHILL (10) turned things around last start and landed the prize by 1.5 lengths at Urawa. Has her share of talent and deserves respect.
6 05:25 Race 6 1500m
GIFTED LEADER (14) returns and it's worth noting he filled a minor placing when resuming from a spell last prep over 1400m at this track. Rates highly and is likely to be prominent. AWESOME WORLD (10) finished just shy of the frame in fourth last start after being in the firing line on the bend here, a slight improvement on his fifth at this track the run before. No tougher this time. He is good enough to take this out. KEY FINE (8) spoiled a good run of form last start when ninth at Urawa. Has the pace to settle in the leading division over a trip she absolutely relishes. Winning claims on best figures. MISSILE BISCUITS (1) has been out of the winner's list for a long time but has been knocking on the door. Drops sharply in trip off he last start fourth and finds a nice race for herself. No surprise to see her around the mark.
7 05:55 Race 7 1500m
JUNINTOIRO (13) wasn't able to back up his dominant pillar-to-post win here from two back, safely held in fourth here last time out over the mile. Ticking along nicely and won't have to improve much to make amends. ULTIMATE (7) ran above expectations and won over the 1400m here last start. Should be full of confidence, so can go on with the job. CRYSTAL ARROW (8) drew wide last time and never looked likely when always well back, failing to follow up on his barnstorming win here two back. Better than the latest run suggests and can bounce back swiftly. PERSEIDS (3) progressed nicely last start to finish a close second at Urawa after missing the placings at the previous appearance. Likely improver so plenty to like about his chances.
8 06:30 Race 8 1600m
TOWN HALL (10) broke through for her maiden win over 1500m at Urawa last time. Not much tougher this time and will be full of confidence. Looks well placed to go back-to-back. MEIWA NOIX (13) returned to her best form here last start when landing the price with a bit up her sleeve. Will prove tough to stop if she can hold her form. ROSE STIER (11) could only manage sixth last time out over 1400m at Urawa three weeks ago. Hasn't won for a very long time but can improve sharply with the rise in trip and is one to watch charging late. Capable of a big run. BONHEUR NEIGE (3) hit the frame two starts ago at this track but ran below par last time. A rise in trip could bring her on nicely.
9 07:05 Race 9 1400m
POD SOL (4) was impressive last time at Urawa, scoring with a fair bit up his sleeve over this trip. Hard to knock with three wins from as many runs this campaign. Sure to go very well again. LIVE PEPPER (7) improved last start when he made late ground but found a couple better here. Strips rock hard fit and boasts a handy record here. Sure to be very competitive. RIKO TARTAR (6) was in contention on the turn and finished third last start at the first run back from a spell here. Yet to miss the placings in three starts over this course and distance. Nicely placed to play a major role. MISTERIO (9) ran below expectations last start, finishing seventh but there's form prior that reads nicely. Don't dismiss.
10 07:40 Race 10 900m
HELLO MY LOVELY (2) finished third over 1150m at Fukushima Dirt at her most recent appearance on April 19. Has switched to the Hiroshi Yauchi yard and will find this company much easier, dropping back to a weaker circuit. Sure to be very competitive. MAKAZE (11) was a winner over this track and trip two back then tackled a longer trip last time but wasn't as effective when fifth at Urawa. Expected to bounce back. AKAZA (3) has been out of the winner's list for a long time but is building nicely into this campaign, last start finishing fifth here. Peaking fourth-up and can break the run of outs. RULE MAPLE (8) was much better last start at Urawa when racing on speed. Strips fitter fourth-up and is one of the winning chances.
11 08:15 Race 11 2000m
CERRADO (5) has put together back-to-back placings, the latest when second after she got a long way back in the run over 1600m at this track. Not much tougher this time and the rise in trip should suit. Bold showing anticipated. HANANO UTAGE (11) improved sharply on her fifth two starts back at this track with success as favourite over the mile here five-and-a-half weeks ago, getting home by 1.5 lengths. Tackling a deeper field this time but she is good enough to go very close. ORIKO D'ELEGANCE (9) has strung together a couple of wins at this track, the latest on August 22 over 1500m. It doesn't get any easier but on current form she is one of the chief contenders. CHACHA HATSU GO (2) finished second at this track and distance at her last appearance ten weeks ago. Looks a solid top-three prospect on best form and is worth keeping safe.
12 08:50 Race 12 1400m
LUM TELEOS (1) was an emphatic winner last time over this track and trip with today's rider Takayuki Yano engaged. Form here at the trip is sound with three wins and four minor placings from nine runs. Expected to go very well. TAISEI FRANK (7) showed good early pace over this course and distance at the latest and kept going to score by 2 lengths. Tackling a deeper field this time but he is good enough to take this out. NISHINO NEW LEAF (3) showed good early muster and fought on to finish third last start at Urawa. Should be prominent again from the low draw and while she takes on a better field, she is worth consideration. SHONAN MANTEN (12) went forward and proved too strong last time, scoring with 2 lengths to spare here. Has a strong association with Hiroki Okamura who has been in the saddle for her last three wins. Have to take seriously.
