Allansford Hotel Motel Maiden Plate 1100m
Genuine tempo from Miss Kanimbla leading Smashing Lad. DETECTIVE GUS (7) is a gelding by Frosted on debut for the Dabernig yard who are always worth keeping an eye on at Warrnambool. He's trialled well enough for this and can run a bold race first time out in a winnable maiden. SMASHING LAD (9) was narrowly beaten first up here over 1000m when getting within half a length of the winner. Up an extra 100m here suits ideally and he draws to effect. Looks a strong danger. PARIS WINDS (10) wasn't far away in a bunched finish on debut at Kilmore and is open to improvement. Drawn well and can figure. BANYAN JENNI (3) resumes and could be an improver this time in with Bates booked. SUGGESTED PLAY: Detective Gus to win. |

Cassign Maiden Plate 1300m
A few sit handy but there won't be a great deal of early pressure. PLEASING SMILE (10) is knocking on the door with consecutive runner-up finishes, missing by a nose at Wodonga two back and hitting the line strongly to get within a head at Tatura last time. Back in trip again here is interesting but he'll be very hard to hold out. SETHEUS (3) is another close to breaking through, no match for A Diva last start at Sale but that form has held up well with the winner winning easily again since. Off a let up for this here but should take beating. LORD CODA (9) is going well, perhaps unsuited coming back in trip at Tatura last time, but still working home well. Drawn to effect here and is in the mix. ZWASP (4) was awful last time at Cranbourne but had been good prior at Sale and could bounce back. CALYPSO KING (1) was okay fresh and can improve. SUGGESTED PLAY: Pleasing Smile to win. |

Sungold Milk 3YO Maiden Plate 1400m
No One Else has good early speed and can set a decent tempo. MISS REVEALING (9) looks the one to beat having debuted in a much stronger maiden at Sandown Hillside over 1300m, trying hard on the pace there to finish within a length of the winner in second. Comes back a notch and while there are some progressive types here, she should have just as much, if not more, upside than any of them and gets every chance from the gun draw. SHADES OF STARDOM (5) hit the line intently first up here to grab a narrow second and should be fitter for it, now suited by the rise to 1400m. Have to respect the local yard and drawn to sit closer. VOUCHERS (6) has been thereabouts in three runs to date, slowly improving with each run. There's been market support for him too and he won't need to improve a whole lot to be challenging. HALF SCOTCH (8) was just fair at Geelong but the return was good and she could improve third up. NO ONE ELSE (3) is going well and has claims. SUGGESTED PLAY: Miss Revealing to win. |

Alex Pye Electrics Maiden Plate 2000m
A race that lacks pace so expect a muddling tempo at best. SADLERS SYMPHONY (11) made sharp improvement at his second outing when stepping up to 1765m at Geelong, finding the line strongly to just miss by a nose off an encouraging debut at Hamilton. Looks a real staying type so should be suited getting to 2000m now and looks to have found a race lacking depth. IMMORTAL ROSE (9) was disappointing here second up off a nice return. She's lightly raced and open to improvement but will need to turn things around quickly. BERNIE BEEL (1) is a 44 start maiden but going better than ever, second last time out. Another placing is on the cards. HONEYJOY (8) was sound fresh over 1400m and could improve. SUGGESTED PLAY: Sadlers Symphony to win. |

The Victoria Hotel Port Fairy BM62 Handicap 1000m
Anticipate Francine, Exuma and Bubion to set a strong tempo. Tough race. BUBION (10) was a dominant maiden winner at Mt Gambier two back, not bad in what looks a stronger race at Mornington last time behind the talented Street Artist, only beaten 1.6 lengths there. Back to 1000m should suit and she'll take catching. EXUMA (2) resumes. His form tapered off at the end of last campaign but there are bits and pieces there to say he's capable on his day and both of his wins have come first up. NIGHTIME STAR (12) is going the right way and back in trip could prove beneficial for the sharp filly from an ideal draw. SELF SERVE (8) was sound fresh at Mornington and should be fitter. Stays at 1000m but has claims. SUGGESTED PLAY: Bubion on top. |

BH Electrical BM62 Handicap 1400m
Good early pressure with Dark Harmony or Thinxzo likely to take up the running. WINNING TOAST (4) resumes in an open race having done some nice things last time in, winning a couple on the Ballarat Synthetic dominantly before measuring up fairly well in a good race at Flemington. Willing to forgive the run in the Silver Bowl Series Final when coming to the end of the campaign in a much stronger affair. Winkers go on and this BM62 looks very attainable if wound up. DANZSIN (11) is coming off a dominant four-length maiden win here last time out on heavy ground. No doubt that testing ground may have flattered him but he's on the up and has to be respected again. HE'S GODSPEED (3) has been good in two runs back from a spell, strong to the line at Coleraine last time out. Should be ready to peak now and can sit closer from the inside gate. MATROOSHI (10) gets up to 1400m again which should really suit. Her form at the trip in isolation reads quite well. SUGGESTED PLAY: Winning Toast on top. |

South West Communications BM62 Handicap 1200m
Despite the wide draw Thaimor should cross and set a genuine tempo. Very open affair. ICY POLE (6) is going quite well for a race like this, narrowly beaten here over 1100m two back before another sound effort up in grade at Geelong. This looks fairly winnable and she should take beating up to 1200m where her best figures are. AYSGARTH (1) made sharp improvement second up at Kilmore when getting into fourth. He can improve again third up in Australia and prove hard to hold out. APPARATUS (2) resumes. He ran some good races in better company last time in that measure up well here, he'll just likely give them a decent start from the gate. WICHITALL (3) resumes and can sprint well fresh. SUGGESTED PLAY: Icy Pole to win. |

TAB We're On BM62 Handicap 1700m
Strong tempo expected from Side Piece, American Gas and Amizetta. JENNI INTIBA (12) is having her first run for the Shane Jackson yard, formerly with Charlotte Littlefield. She's trialled since her last start placing at Sale behind the in-form Zambardo who has won easily in town since. She's open to improvement and should run a strong race. ARISTONOUS (2) worked home well first up at Sandown Hillside, also behind Zambardo, beaten five lengths by that horse. He hasn't won for a while but his best form is very good for a race like this and he'll strip fitter. RASP (10) knocked off his maiden easily two back and was good again last time over this route in a similar race. Tough draw but warrants respect again. AMIZETTA (6) resumes. She'll get further but this is a good kick off and the yard must be respected. SUGGESTED PLAY: Jenni Intiba each-way. |
