RADIO GOULBURN CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE 2140m
Dunwithya to roll forward and dictate terms. SEPTIMUS (3) has put together back-to-back placings since the Newcastle Maiden win. He's well placed at country level and is the one they have to beat. DUNWITHYA (1) won his Maiden over a mile and then didn't have the best of it against the above at Kembla Grange. Presents fitter and shapes as the threat. PONTIAC (2) should be assessed on his CL1 win at Canberra two back. Just battled there last time but that was in better grade. He's on a 6-day return and keeps the handy 2kg claim. LANDMARK LADY (7) made good improvement at Moruya over a mile. The indications are that the middle distance will suit. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Septimus. |

BRYANT'S PIES CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1100m
Expecting Iowna Benz to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sprint course. EXTREME DIAMOND (1) started in the red here first-up and proved too strong for the 66 graders over this trip. He's promising and judged on that he can take the next step for a top Sydney yard. BOOMTOWN CHAT (3) went close behind the above first-up and it was also a good effort after a slow start. Fitter and will be right in it again. FAMOSO (2) switched from a Victorian stable and first up impressed when beaten 1L this grade at Dubbo. Maps for the run of the race and has more up his sleeve. IOWNA BENZ (4) resumes for the Baker yard and showed plenty early doors. Her recent metro trials suggest she's back on track and she's won fresh. The tongue tie is applied for the first time. SUGGESTED PLAY: Sticking with Extreme Diamond. |

SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS FOODS CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1200m
A solid tempo is on the cards with Tonkatsu Goddess and Mr Kennedy pushing for the lead ahead of Manwari and Kreon. The local Williams yard holds the key. KREON (5) raced in town his first three starts this preparation and then came back home beaten a whisker in this grade bet $2.40F. He led in that and exits from an inside barrier in this. Well-placed to make amends. Stablemate MANWARI (6) brings a string of wins and has delivered comfortably here his last two. Jumped $1.90 the latest and keeps improving. This is stronger but he has to be respected with winning rider McDougall reunited. TONKATSU GODDESS (2) was quickly back on track beaten by 1.4L at Newcastle in better company. The speed-bred mare can use the inside barrier and Collett replaces the apprentice. A serious player. LAMBAY (3) resumes for Canberra's premier stable and is proven fresh. His figures stack up and Owen is a positive jockey engagement. Keep onside. SUGGESTED PLAY: Kreon appeals most. |

GOULBURN EXPRESS FREIGHT MAIDEN HANDICAP 1400m
Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by Dragon Girl. SO REBELLIOUS (2) resumes and rates well for this contest. Raced well in Open 2's in his brief initial preparation and has trialled twice at Warwick Farm in preparation. Draws a bit awkwardly but a bold run is likely. Wary of ELYSIUM (8), who debuts for a top Sydney stable. She's well-bred and has had five trials stretching back to May. Has an inside gate and the blinkers are on and which signals intent. BABYFACED ASSASSIN (1) has a key jockey switch to Collett today and has more to offer second-up. No surpise if he's in the finish. GLENN'S LEGACY (3) will be fitter and can fill a minor slot for the strong local yard. SUGGESTED PLAY: So Rebellious with the race fitness. |

GOULBURN AUSTRALIA COUNTRY BOOSTED BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1600m
Star Empire and Caravanserai have the pace to take up the running at a solid tempo. The in-form Seib barn has a strong hand. GHOST WALKER (1) is likely the best of them presenting off a narrow defeat in stronger at Rosehill. Has the inside barrier and is proven third-up. Winning rider Boudvillain is reunited. Stablemate ZIGGY ROSE (8) is lightly raced and delivered a Moruya Maiden stepping up to this journey. Started $2.0F and she looks capable of taking the next step. Draws inside and Guymer stays aboard. HURRICANE CONI (4) will present at peak for Joe Cleary and was quickly back on track when narrowly beaten here from the front over this trip. He can make the finish again. STAR EMPIRE (7) has been around the mark without winning and can't be ruled out with JVO riding first time. SUGGESTED PLAY: Ghost Walker appeals most. |

M.J. DALE RACING COUNTRY BOOSTED MAIDEN PLATE 1200m
Stormbringer should spear straight to the front of the small field. SACRED INFERNO (8) can bring up a race-to-race double for the in-form Seib stable. He's been narrowly beaten all three race starts and last time there was only a nose in it over this trip at Moruya. STORMBRINGER (3) resumes and has switched to Matt Dale from Waterhouse-Bott on a 198-day return. He placed this trip on debut and raced over further following. Has good ability and a key gear switch. The late betting will be key. SLATER'S BOY (2) was narrowly beaten here first-up off a long break. He has plenty of scope for improvement and maps well. Keep him very safe. Stablemate ELASAND (9) reaches peak fitness but needs to spike his numbers to be winning. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Sacred Inferno. |

HOMEBASE REAL ESTATE MAIDEN PLATE 1100m
They are sure to run this along with Will One and Silver Serenade taking it up from a few of the first starters. FLORAL LEGEND (2) peaks off a near miss here when she led them up. The Sydney-trained mare has more to give and rates to go one better. The local SILVER SERENADE (9) was beaten 1.3L at Moruya on debut from the speed and is sure to improve off that. Draws an inside gate and will get every chance. CHALET (6) debuts for the sharp Baker yard and owns a Randwick trial win. Looks to have good ability, and expect him to be ready to go. The betting will be key. WILL ONE (1) led and missed a whisker at Cootamundra on debut off a big trial win here. Has an awkward gate but McDougall is a key jockey engagement replacing the apprentice. Keep safe. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Floral Legend. |
