MME HUNTRESS (6) was well supported on debut and ran a strong race, finishing a close-up fourth. Fitter again and leading rider stays aboard. Expected to go close. MASTER'S LADY (2) was overdue for a maiden success before a break and looks well placed here fresh. Will be hard to hold out. AMAZONIAN (4) returns after three months in the paddock. Safely held on debut then ran a far improved race last time out before another break. has upside and bold showing expected. IN BETWEEN (5) is on debut. By Gold Standard and hails from the Paul Matchett stable. Leading rider and inside draw. Watch the market closely. |

RACING TODAY MAIDEN PLATE 1000m
TRAJANUS (1) is the one to beat on what we've seen so far. Has had three starts for three seconds, the latest just missing over 1200m at Vaal. Just missed as well over this trip at first two starts and off the low draw will take catching. HAMMER BLOW (5) is the main threat. Turned in a nice debut when placed over 1000m at Vaal and the figure wasn't far off Trajanus. With upside looks a huge threat to get off the mark. AQUARIUS (9) is a three-year-old filly by Rafeef out of Star Of Excellence. Watch the market closely for a positive move. SEED SEEKER (2) was a fair fourth last time and may do better coming back in trip. Change of rider and worth keeping safe. |

ONETWOBUCKLEMYSHOE (8) was well fancied on debut here over 1450m and ran well but just missed, beaten a nose. Has big upside and looks ideally placed at the mail. The one to beat on that. WAR SUMMIT (3) is the clear and maybe only danger. Was fourth on debut then has landed back to back placings over a mile. Further improvement would see him in the finish again. ARIZONA MAGIC (2) has started twice and both over sharper races when being beaten for early speed. May improve sharply out in journey now. GAVIUS MAXIMUS (6) finished fourth at two runs to date and is another stretching out in distance. Worth keeping safe. |

ALLIED STEELRODE CHARITY MILE 1 NOVEMBER FM 74 HANDICAP 1200m
SARAGOSSA CAT (5) is a progressive filly who was well fancied on debut when runner-up, then turned in a strong performance last time to score the maiden win. Low draw and will take beating again. BLUSHING BLOOM (2) looks the main threat on recent form. Was a Vaal winner two back then runner-up here last time before being freshened. Expected to feature again. WHIRLYBIRD (3) might be value and is going better than form suggests. Coming off a solid fifth at Vaal last time and rates strongly in this line-up. Don't underestimate. MAVERICK QUEEN (7) is another going better than form suggests and must be included with the light weight. |

BETWAY SUMMER CUP 29 NOVEMBER PINNACLE STAKES 1600m
KING'S EXPRESS (7) is a lightly raced galloper back in form with a strong win here over a little further last time. Freshened and looks very attractively weighted. Can go on with it. LADY FALLON (8) looks a huge chance fresh. Hasn't raced since finishing sixth in the Grade 1 Empress Club Stakes. Goes well fresh and very well placed at this level. MARAUDING HORDE (2) is another talented galloper resuming. Campaigned in stakes races over further last time in but does go well fresh and the mile suits. Well placed this class. POTBERRIE (5) could be value. Racing well including a last start Vaal win over 1400m. Placed only try course and distance and will take running down with the light weight. |

SOHO HEARTTHROB (9) is in first campaign but progressing very well and looks hard to beat. Just missed over 1400m last time and has first try at the trip. Zackey stays aboard and this would be the lightest he can ride which is a positive sign. Tough to atop again. OBSIDIAN (1) looks the main threat. Won three on end before a deserved break. Has good early speed and will be in this for a long way. LAST CAR TO PASS (5) has fitness and is racing well, including a last start second over a mile at Vaal. Worth following up. PLAYER (4) has been ticking along well and best form is over this journey. Should be winding up strongly. |

NEXT TURFFONTEIN RACEMEETING SUNDAY 26 OCTOBER MR 66 HANDICAP 1450m
MICHAEL FARADAY (3) is back in form and worth following up. Easy winner over 1700m at Vaal latest when third-up and shod be at top. Similar grade here and should be able to handle the rise in weight. CALIDA (2) is a talented type but facing a long drought since a win. Resumes off a long spell and does go well fresh. Low draw and should take catching on fresh legs. NORTHERN KITTEN (9) is another resuming. Went to the paddock a winner this class over 1450m at Vaal and should be doing best work late. MATROOSBERG (5) was well off best last time. Leading rider goes on, low draw and back in grade here so worth another try. Take catching. |
