Maiden Race 1400m
SMART JULIUS (9) has filled a minor placing at both runs to date. Led and fought on well in a Newcomer on debut then tried hard from a wide gate last time when beaten half a length into second over 1400m at Hanshin Dirt. Likely to push forward and race on the pace. Best figures should see him run well. HARD THINGS (10) is still a maiden after three runs. Was well in commission last time out but didn't live up to market expectations, finishing fourth over 1400m at Hanshin Dirt. Better for the first experience on the dirt and is a great chance to break through. T O ANGELA (1) was out of the money on debut two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1600m at Hanshin, beaten 4 lengths into fourth after being in contention on the bend. First try on the dirt. Finds a nice race and can feature in the finish. LUFADA (16) raced once in the maiden preparation when fifth at Hanshin Dirt over 1200m back on June 22. Plenty of scope for improvement and well placed back to maiden class. |

Maiden Race 1600m
MIKKI LA VITA (1) was well fancied in a Newcomer on debut and hit the line hard to finish third, beaten 2.25 lengths at the end of 1400m at Chukyo. Ran on well and looks suited by the extra ground. Has plenty of upside so she should pay to follow. TRANSMARINE (4) debuted three weeks ago when he also ran on hard to finish and finished fourth over 1600m at Hanshin, beaten 2.5 lengths. Fitter again and expected to be very competitive. DERNIER JOY (5) made an encouraging debut in a Newcomer over a mile and raced on speed, boxing well on well to finish 3 lengths from the winner in fourth at Hanshin. Back to maiden class and is a likely improver who is among the better chances. SHALLOW ARROZ (3) finished 7 lengths away in seventh at her last appearance over 1400m at Hanshin on September 14. Back up to a mile now and did place at the trip two back. Gets chance to bounce back. |

Allowance Race 1400m
Race drops right away outside the top chances. PIEMANSON (5) has not raced since he scored over 1400m at this track on February 16. Could not have been more impressive before a break and is a promising colt with good upside., Expected to measure up to this. MIGHTY MIGHTY (10) was strongly fancied when resuming last start but was beaten 5 lengths into seventh over 1400m at Chukyo Dirt. Unbeaten in two starts when second up. This easier and definitely worth another chance. COSMO STORM (8) finished second last time over 1400m at Hanshin Dirt when resuming from a spell, beaten 4 lengths. Nice return and won only try second-up and only try course and distance. Likely improver with winning claims. TAMAMO TEA CUP (14) returned from a spell last start with a strong win by 0.8 lengths over 1400m at Hanshin Dirt. Motored home over the top of them fresh and is among the better chances. |

Has a very good record over today's journey with three wins from five starts. Looks the leader and will take catching again. AMERICAN STAGE (9) started twice last campaign both in Dubai, placing in the G3 Mahab Al Shimaal then wasn't far away in the Grade 1 Dubai Golden Shaheen won by Dark Saffron. Has good early speed so should take up a forward position. Resuming in far easier and likely to feature. STAR TURN (4) lines up for the first time since June 8. Started the last campaign impressively when in the placings over 1200m at this track. Rates highly and makes plenty of appeal. KITANO'S EDGE (3) returns after a spell of four months. Looking to emulate his win at this track at the beginning of last prep. Has a big finish and will appreciate the hot speed up front here. Will be dropping on them late. Allowance Race 1200m
KANSHIN (9) was out of the money when resuming from a spell last start over 1400m at Chukyo, beaten 2.5 lengths. Ryusei Sakai gets the best out of this three-year-old colt. Best form is over this shorter trip and can bounce back. JUN VIN QUETE (13) was prominent on straightening and stuck on well to finish second last start over 1200m at Chukyo, beaten one length when fresh from a spell. Enjoys a drop in grade so he is a major player. Take catching. ELSA TO ANNA (1) scored two back at Hakodate but was below her best last time when fifth over 1200m at Sapporo after being in contention on the bend. Beautifully placed off the inside draw and is sure to play a pivotal role. BLACK KELLY (2) resumed over 1200m at Hanshin last start and was too good for her rivals, scoring by a neck. Fitter for that last hitout and drawn for a good run. Can measure up again. |
