Race Overview

PAKENHAM SYNTHETIC   17 June 2024
NUM TIME COMMENT
1 12:30 Battery Zone 3YO Fillies Maiden Plate 1400m
No recognised leader so Amahle could find herself in front. SPECIAL DANCER (9) is a lightly raced filly who resumed with a solid run at Moe over 1200m, finishing fourth and beaten under two lengths. Fitter for that run and with even luck she'll be hard to hold out. FAST FREEZE (4) put in a better effort last start at Cranbourne over 1300m to grab third and is in the mix based on that effort. PHAROAH'S DAUGHTER (8) has placed in 3/5 runs to date and shouldn't be far away. ARDSLEY (3) was better second up at Mornington and can figure.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Special Dancer on top.
2 01:00 Pakenham Mazda Maiden Plate 1600m
A keen early tempo headed by Five Star King and Summer Sizzling who take advantage of their low draws. NEFERURE (9) comes here third-up having shown good improvement last start at Bendigo when second. She was no match for the winner, Craig, who was a moral beaten at Flemington next time out. That form should hold up strongly here. TWINKLE VAN WINKLE (11) put in a much better run last start at Sale over 1717m and rates a solid each way hope based off that. FIVE STAR KING (14) can improve back in trip slightly. MIZEN (4) was much better last start on the synthetic at Ballarat and that gives him a genuine chance here.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Neferure to win.
3 01:30 Sandown Lodge Maiden Plate 1200m
First Blessing will go fast but there are few first starters lining up who could keep her busy. FIRST BLESSING (7) resumes. She placed at her only run to date over 1110m at Sale, beaten three lengths by a handy type and showing good promise. She's had a decent spell here but resumes in a winnable race and trusting the stable to have her ready to go. MILO (3) is a Stokes three-year-old gelding by Deep Field lining up for his debut. He's won a trial nicely in preparation and must be greatly respected on his home deck. Keep safe. MISS LIL (11) could improve having not been beaten far at Cranbourne last start. This trip should suit. BIGCAT (13) has been around the mark of late and looks a solid each way hope. AQUILION GIRL (6) was better at big odds last time and is a top four hope.  SUGGESTED PLAY: First Blessing to win.
4 02:00 Bridgestone Select Pakenham Maiden Plate 1000m
Genuine tempo with Stella Boo to lead but under plenty of pressure in a keen early contest. POCKET SIZE (7) resumes. She did run a narrow third on debut in her maiden campaign at Ballarat before a solid effort at Caulfield. Maps for a good run here and finds a winnable maiden to kick off in. Big chance. NEVER LET ME GO (6) can mix her form, just fair last start at Pakenham but good over this trip prior at Ballarat. She comes back to the 1000m here which should suit and her best would go close. EL BEATLE (1) is a lightly raced type who ran quite well on resumption at Sale in a small field. Can improve. PRAIRIE LEGEND (4) resumes. Formerly with Chris Waller, he could improve here in a much easier maiden. STELLA BOO (8) next best.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Pocket Size to win.
5 02:30 9Mile Fresh BM58 Handicap 1000m
Sizzling pace from the outset from Flying Ace and Trebel Rebel locking horns ahead of Clock Strikes and Albanian Thunder. Few chances. CLOCK STRIKES (2) was just fair last start at Pakenham but did run second prior at Geelong on heavy going. He didn't figure at his only synthetic run but finds the right race here. OUR MALYSHKA (3) has more upside than a few of these. A debut winner last time in, she hasn't been far away in two runs back and will find this easier than last start. Right in this. FLYING ACE (1) resumes and can get into the finish. MONSOON REINS (8) next best in an open race.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Clock Strikes.
6 03:00 Sportsbet Jockey Watch BM58 Handicap 1200m
Solid tempo with Zadar Sunset possessing the dash to work to the lead. ESECUTORE (1) should find this easier than recent racing, fifth at his past two outings, one at Sandown Lakeside, the other on the Hillside circuit. He tackled a Bm70 last time and wasn't beaten far which reads well for this. If he gets across from the wide gate he'll be very hard to catch. FREDERICK (3) is coming off a smart maiden win at Moe, scoring by nearly two lengths. Open to further improvement and he too will look to come across and keep them running. DIRTY GRIN (5) ran second in both runs last campaign and is right in the mix. UNLIMITED MAGIC (8) can improve.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Esecutore to win.
7 03:30 Patient Paws Dog Training Pakenham BM58 Handicap 1200m
Sharper possesses good early speed and will battle for early honours. GABSTAR (6) resumed with a good run at Mornington over this distance, working home well for third. Fitter for that and can improve, just needs a good ride from the wide gate to be within striking distance on the turn. DARCEANDERMILL (2) has placed in his past three and has put up some solid ratings that would go a ways to winning this. If he handles the synthetic he should go close. FARISHA (7) is lightly raced and can improve on firmer footing here while DUEL VENTURE (5) is in the each way mix on best form.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Gabstar on top.
8 04:00 Sportsbet - Set a Deposit Limit BM64 Handicap 1600m
An even tempo with a few jostling for the front. ABSOLUTE DEEL (7) has come back well, winning nicely first up at Sale with a strong run from the back before another sound effort at Pakenham in a Class 1, finishing second. Open to further improvement at just his sixth start, he'll be very hard to hold out. TYPHOON HARMONY (1) will find this easier than recent racing. He was fifth, beaten just 1.1 lengths in a Bm70 at Bendigo two back which reads very well. BRAZEN KINGDOM (3) remains a query at 1600m with 0 placings from 3 attempts, another miss last start at Pakenham. His best is definitely good enough, the last bit will be the issue. YOTOTSU (11) should find this a touch easier than recent runs and can improve. DISSELATION (9) won his maiden at $1.30 at Ballarat Synthetic last time and might be able to go on with it.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Absolute Deel to win.
9 04:30 Pro Lift Garage Doors BM64 Handicap 1400m
Off the low draw Bullet Wing is likely to find the lead at a slick tempo. Tricky finish. BULLET WING (2) put in a much better effort last start at Benalla when second, beaten a long neck. He's off a 10 week let up here and for a new stable which is the query but finds a very winnable race and a repeat of last start has him right in the finish. SPEEDTAIL (7) was solid at Ballarat Synthetic last start and did tackle a handy race at Sandown Hillside prior when fourth which reads well. He's 1/1 at this track and distance and looks nicely placed. MONTJEUIFY (3) can mix his form but was good last time at Ballarat Synthetic when leading and giving a big sight. Should adopt similar tactics here. ROYAL FOX (4) resumes having gone to the paddock a solid Bm64 winner at Benalla. Can return with a bold run. GUNNA GUNNA (9) next best.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Bullet Wing & Speedtail.
