NUM TIME COMMENT
1 01:30 Happy 80th Birthday Maureen Plews 2YO Maiden Plate 1200m
Tricky to map but expect For Better to position forward. Moody-Coleman-trained FOR BETTER (10) was well supported here on debut but had to be content with the second place, 3L behind Omaha Dawn. She had some work to do and will be better for the outing. Meech stays aboard and can run her along from the inside gate. THE SHOWVINIST (5) debuts and is also in a leading metro yard. Owns a trial win on the Pakenham synthetic and draws to advantage. Will be well prepared and is likely to threaten. Godolphin-trained TRISKELE (13) presents third up with the first time blinkers applied. She makes her synthetic debut and should be ready to show more. CAPTIVATE LEGEND (8) is a speed-bred debutant from the Alexander yard who bears watching. Like the above, she draws an awkward barrier.  SUGGESTED PLAY: For Better with the race fitness and experience.
2 02:00 Global Turf Maiden Plate 1100m
Expecting Sheeza Tomcat to find the lead but there will be some pressure. Freedman-trained LEEONARDO (3) resumes and finally draws an inside barrier. Pulled up with an issue last time but was building nicely prior. He will be naturally improved and Ben Allen is a positive jockey booking. MAGIC MADONNA (7) resumes and didn't come up at her only start last preparation. Her form prior reads well including a close-up placing at Sandown-Hillside on debut. Has a handy barrier and a much-improved effort is anticipated. The local ATTABOOM (1) peaks and has been within range this preparation on the synthetic. He's on a 4-day return and rates well enough. Can't be ruled out back on the turf. SHEEZA TOMCAT (10) resumes and is better than the form line suggests. No surprise to see her go well.  SUGGESTED PLAY: With Leeonardo.
3 02:30 Martin Collins Maiden Plate 2100m
Diamondiferous can comfortably find the front. The local SEAMINGLY (12) threatened twice at Kyneton and then was outgraded and beaten off in a Quality at Flemington at huge odds. This suits a lot better and she maps for a cosy run. Hard-fit and deserves to break through. THE PRECURSOR (5) is in the premier barn and he can lift over the longer journey. Maps well and will get every chance. Feared. OUR BONNIO MISS (11) peaks and is knocking on the door. Has to manage the outside barrier and that's the niggle. IL AMERICANA (8) is up to this at best but has been plain on soft tracks her last two. Draws to advantage today with McDougall booked. Keep onside.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Seamingly.
4 03:00 Porter Plant BM64 Handicap 2100m
From The Basement, Gunnafly and Inthelapofthegods can press forward and set a solid tempo. An even contest. EASY ROAD (3) missed a whisker at Wangaratta and then raced favourite this trick/trip beaten less than 1L. Hard-fit and we know he enjoys the surface. MAGADAN (5) had been within range three times at Sale and didn't handle the heavy 8 track at Moe last time. He rates well and can make the finish. TURIN (9) was beaten 2.8L here in the Easy Road race and a 2kg claimer replaces McDougall, who rides the above. She can sit closer today and has a chance. GUNNAFLY (7) didn't finish it off at Wangaratta but the form prior stacks up. He maps for a soft run and is worth another chance. DIPLOMAC JACK (2) is a veteran who's been racing in stronger. He also has claims.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Easy Road.
5 03:30 Hygain Winners Choice BM58 Handicap 1100m
Lots of early speed predominantly from Sutadamu and Toronto Rain. DREAMWOMAN (5) came here and spiked her figures winning the 58 against her own sex. It was a big effort after a slow start and she's been kept on the fresh side. Keeps Ben Allen and won't have to improve much to be winning again. CADBOLL (1) resumes and is proven fresh. He's been racing in stronger and the 3kg claim offsets some of the weight increase. He races forward and will give a sight. PERI PERI RICH (3) was a big winner this grade at Geelong and okay following at Mornington. The 2kg claim is handy but the gate is awkward. A hope. KIKUSUI (8) resumes and is proven fresh and at this course/distance. Has the rails gate and 2kg claim and keep safe.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Dreamwoman.
6 04:00 Sportsbet Race Replays BM70 Handicap 1200m
From an inside barrier Estrapaz can set a decent tempo. Competitive. CORNER OFF (10) was nudged out twice at Moonee Valley at this level and then resumed with a near miss at Geelong in a 64. She has an awkward barrier but hasn't missed a beat and has been kept on the fresh side. Has her first go here and fitter is a strong chance. TAKASHIMA (12) won a 58 here as expected and the extra 200m shouldn't bother. Has weight relief and Stackhouse replaces the apprentice. In a leading metro barn and has plenty of scope for improvement. RUMINATE (8) resumed and was only beaten a half-length here behind Morning Darling. Presents fitter and finally draws an inside barrier. Go well. No knock on MORNING DARLING (7) who impressed when he belted home from the back in that contest. Jumps form the outside gate and that's the niggle.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Corner Off.
7 04:30 Hygain Winners Choice BM58 Handicap 1400m
Even tempo and Sir Domigo may be the galloper to lead. MONT SAINT MICHEL (5) was nudged out at Benalla on resumption and then didn't get warm on a soft track at Pakenham in stronger. Raced well at Flemington in a 70 over this trip before the break and that reads well. Has a handy gate and should be ready to show his best. ALLIBOR (4) switched from Hong Kong and was disappointing at Bendigo first up well supported (vet cleared). He gets the blinkers applied again and is worth another chance. SIR DOMIGO (3) races forward and won a 58 by a space at Echuca and then had excuses here on the turf. Draws to advantage and peaks today. COSMIC RHAPSODY (1) gives away starts but was much better here last time and keeps the handy 3kg claim. He's on a 4-day return so must be pleasing the yard.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Mont Saint Michel.
