NUM TIME COMMENT
1 12:30 NORTHERN RIVERS CONCRETING COUNTRY BOOSTED MDN PLATE 1110m
Scarlett Thunder and Tosen Dreamer will press forward early in a keen battle for top spot. BOBBY IS KING (1) was ridden more aggressively last start but tired at the end of 1200m at Inverell to miss the placings. Given a seven-week freshen up since that effort so the slightly shorter trip should suit. Capable of testing these. SCARLETT THUNDER (9) started favourite but found 800m at Ipswich a bit sharp when resuming from a 28-week spell for the new stable last start. Filled a placing second-up at Mornington last prep. Open to sharp improvement over this more suitable journey. TOSEN DREAMER (11) last appeared on 1 March when down the track at Ballina. In the money at 10/13 runs so while this is short of her best she must be considered. THEIR FINEST HOUR (12) has won a couple of recent trials and looks ready for a solid debut, as does SO YOU CAN TORQUE (4) whose trials suggests Matt Dunn has a decent galloper on his hands.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Hard to split Bobby Is King and Scarlett Thunder.
2 01:05 M&T TYRES MAIDEN HANDICAP 1210m
Solid tempo headed by Going Dutch and Dee Stormed. GOING DUTCH (1) led with blinkers on for the first time but didn't quite run out a strong 1350m when a distant third last start at Ipswich. Well drawn and the shorter trip looks a good option. Should give this a mighty shake. SIBELIUS (3) resumed with a solid second over this distance at Beaudesert last time out when lining up for only the second time. Back in good order and with a little improvement can go one better. CHOCKABLOCK (5) has been runner-up at all three appearances since changing stables this time in work, most recently motoring home over today's journey at Kilcoy. Cherry-ripe and will be hard to hold out down a much longer straight today. DEE STORMED (4) led but disappointed in the run home last start over this trip at Coffs Harbour. Good effort when resuming the run prior at Grafton so worth another chance. Market watch on BETTER THAN ANYONE (6) first-up from a 19-week spell.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Going Dutch.
3 01:40 SUMMERLAND TROPHIES BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1110m
A slick tempo on the cards with Snipillicious and Ronny Rock Art battling for the lead ahead of Old Timing Man. ROLLING ROCK (5) produced a real eye-catcher when resuming over 1200m at Ipswich last start, coming from next to last on the bend to grab second in a slightly stronger race than this. Can race a bit closer from the better draw so although coming back in trip she looks the one to beat. RONNY ROCK ART (3) missed by a whisker first-up at Taree then got back and failed to warm to the task over 1050m on the Gold Coast poly last time. Worth another chance back on the turf. OLD TIMING MAN (4) improved out of sight when second-up on a firmer surface recently, edged out in a tight one over 1205m at Grafton. Draws a lot closer this time and gets a bit of weight relief. Right in the mix. NEOCLASSICISM (9) is a consistent gelding but has only one win among 13 top-three finishes. First-up from a 66-day break with blinkers on. Sure to be competitive. Last start Murwillumbah winner SNIPILLICIOUS (10) must be included on an eight-day back-up.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen on Rolling Rock.
4 02:15 METROLL MAIDEN HANDICAP 1410m
The pace looks moderate in the absence of on-pace runners. CLUBHOUSE (5) is racing well but remains without a win after 11 appearances. Made up good ground to finish third last start over 1350m at Doomben. Finds an easier maiden today and drops 2.5kgs. Perfectly placed to break through. MISSAYTER (11) returns from a 20-week spell for a new stable. Has an awful top-three strike rate but was contesting tougher maidens last prep. Gets a few gear changes and is worth some thought. DELIBES (6) showed pace but couldn't finish off over 1300m on a heavy track at Beaudesert recently. Worth another chance from a good gate in this modest affair. BRETSAL (1) worked through the line impressively to grab third on debut last start over 1250m at Taree. Has plenty of upside and poses a serious threat. ZEPHYRZ ZOOM (14) has disappointed of late but a big win in a recent trial suggests she can improve.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Confident Clubhouse can break through today.
5 02:55 LA FARO ACCOUNTANTS & ADVISORS CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE 1526m
Expecting a strong gallop with Cut My Grass taking up the running over Pride Of Ashleigh. KISSED BY EVIE (13) won her maiden first-up over 1350m at Ipswich then stayed at that trip last start and lacked dash when out of the placings at Doomben. Big chance to return to the winner's list with this step up in distance. MILITARY AWARD (8) was slow out of the machine then stoked up late to finish third in a pleasing effort over 1350m at Doomben last time out. Tried once over this when trained in Victoria and saluted. Poses a genuine threat. PEROVIC (9) has settled off the speed and failed to run on in his two runs this time in work for new trainer Matt Dunn, both over shorter trips. Led all the way to win easily third-up over a mile at Moonee Valley last prep. Watch for sharp improvement. MAGIC OF MILLO (7) did his best work late to grab second over 1435m at Grafton last time. Fitter for two runs back from a break and will be hard to hold out. Last start Grafton maiden winner PRIDE OF ASHLEIGH (14) is back in trip but worth including in exotics.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Finding 7-8-9-13 hard to split. Box those in a trifecta.
6 03:35 FAR NORTH COAST CONVEYANCING COUNTRY BOOSTED BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1310m
Plenty of pace from the outset with Nanakorobi Yaoki leading the charge. CREDIT CONTROLLER (13) drifted back from a wide draw and didn't do much in the straight last start over 1435m at Grafton. Motored late to just miss in the three-way go over the same course and distance the run before which is a good guide to her chances. HARDLEY GREY (8) progressed nicely last time out when second-up from a break, working home late for third over 1435m at Grafton. Five runs at or around today's distance have yielded a win and four placings. Cherry ripe and ready to win. IRISH KNIGHT (2) is back after a four-month spell. Needs more ground but this looks a nice trip while fresh. Watch for him to be flashing home late. VOLFONI (12) found six furlongs too sharp last start but he did attack the line well to be beaten just 1.5 lengths at Grafton. In the right race today so worth following. LIDIA (14) is another who will appreciate getting out over a bit more ground.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Credit Controller and Hardley Grey, both at nice odds.
7 04:10 TNR CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS BENCHMARK 66 HANDICAP 1526m
Badgers Nuts and Serenade The Cat will press forward early in a keen battle for top spot. VETOED (13) was impressive winning first-up at Grafton then got too far back last start over the mile at Doomben but did work home well. Ideally placed and should be spot-on at the third run back. SPILL THE SECRET (6) wasn't beaten far two runs back over 1350m at Ipswich then struggled on a heavy ground at Murwillumbah last time. Will appreciate firmer footing today so he deserves another chance. I AM GOOD AT THIS (3) hasn't threatened in two runs this prep over shorter journeys. Strips fitter and has won 2/2 at this distance, including a 5.1 length romp at Murwillumbah last campaign. No surprise if he took this out. Rising seven-year-old DAEDALUS (9) is flying this prep, recording a second win from three outings over this trip at Murwillumbah last time. Getting up in the weights but he races well here and is hard to knock. BADGERS NUTS (5) was rolled at $1.45 last start at Beaudesert. Fitter for two runs back and cannot be ruled out.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Good race. Leaning to Vetoed on an each-way basis.
