NUM TIME COMMENT
1 11:54 SILKS UNDER THE STARS MAY 24 Maiden Plate 1900m
Slick pace with Aces Up finding the front but it won't be a picnic with a few other speedy types engaged. ACES UP (3) has placed in six of his nine starts and gets a golden opportunity to break his maiden here. Raced on the pace and stuck to his task when 3rd in 2060m maiden at Doomben last start. Gets Noel Callow back aboard, should press forward and be hard to hold out. PUSH TURBO (1) faded in the straight when 8th in Doomben 2060m maiden last start but placed in three of his previous four runs before that. Right in the mix. SISTINE CHAPEL (7) failed last start but her form at this track is solid enough to make her a definite top-three chance. WHYTEEPEE (2) was just edged out in a Toowoomba maiden over 1920m last start on heavy ground. If he can repeat that he can make presence felt. CASSIE'S GIRL (4) was runner-up this track two starts ago and could be one for multiples.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Aces Up to win
2 12:29 HOLLINDALE MAY 11 ON SALE Maiden Plate 1540m
Moderate pace with Parchemin taking up the running ahead of Anotherlovelyday and Irene's Best.  Well-bred former NSW mare IRENE'S BEST (10) turned in an encouraging performance when finishing strongly for second over this course and distance in her first start for new stable last start. If she can run up to that again she will take plenty of beating. ANOTHERLOVELYDAY (9) is consistent in this grade with six placings from 12 starts. Finished third as favourite last-start over this course and distance, 3.5 length behind runner-up Irene's Best. Among the leading contenders again. PARCHEMIN (7) raced too keenly two starts ago over this distance and weakened in the straight. Worked home soundly over a shorter trip last time and can give a sight over this distance again now. READY ENABLE (4) is fitter for this and the addition of blinkers on for the first time from a soft draw could spark and improved showing at odds.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Irene's Best to win.
3 01:04 WE RIDE AT NIGHT MAY 24 Maiden Plate 1150m
Casino Coast is expected to lead at a strong tempo. PEARL IN HAY (9) had to come from last and make a run around the field but hit the line nicely into third on debut at this track over 1200m. Drawn wide but showed enough on debut to suggest she is capable of winning this. WATERMELON (5) has raced in three states in four career starts and was only narrowly denied at the Sunshine Coast when having his first start for a new stable last start. Charged home there from last and expect him to be finishing strongly again. EXCEED TO AMBITION (7) gave a great sight here two starts back when close second over 1050m then had to cover ground last time which took away from her finish. From a better draw she should give a sight again. Don't underestimate CASINO COAST (1) despite a wide draw again.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Pearl In Hay.
4 01:39 TAB BETS FRIENDS GCTC BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1900m
Plenty of early pressure with Pagato, Voldemort and Shadyvale Storm leading the charge.  TROPIC SANDS (6) made a long-sustained run from midfield last start and was only narrowly beaten by Hadouken over this course and distance in this grade. Has to overcome a wide draw but can go one better here. GIDDY GAN'S JOY (9) is racing in good form and backed up a dominant Ipswich maiden win over 2200m two back with a hard-fought win at Grafton. Capable of making it a hat-trick here. SHADYVALE STORM (2) will be fitter for two runs back from a spell and has won multiple races around this distance range on this track so has to be respected. The five-race winning sequence for PAGATO (1) came to an end last start. He was still gallant when third under his big weight and can be expected to turn in another gallant showing here. VOLDEMORT (7) could be one for multiples.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Happy to go with Tropic Sands.
5 02:14 GLENFIDDICH FIRST WEANLINGS QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1050m
Solid tempo with Factnot Fiction leading from On Merit and Overtern. MODISTE (9) has turned in two solid performances, including first-up this time in when she made good late ground from back in the field for third in an 1100m 3YO Mdn on the Sunshine Coast Poly track. Has a wide draw again but expect her to make presence felt here. CHERBOURG (7) was unplaced in town last start but has each-way appeal going off two minor placings on the Sunshine Coast Poly track at his previous starts. OVERTERN (12) was placed two starts ago then was found to be displaying a slow post-race recovery after failing last start at Toowoomba. Can bounce back here. PASS THE WINE (5) should get every chance from barrier 1 as he looks to build on a last-start third at this track, while ON MERIT (1) showed enough talent last preparation to suggest a bold first-up run is on the cards.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Modiste each-way
6 02:49 MEMBERS & MATES GCTC JUNE 29 BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1050m
Strong early tempo assured with likes of Platinum Lies and Serigala locking horns. RUSTIC BOOM (2) showed a good turn of foot in back-to-back wins on the Sunshine Coast Poly Track over 1100m then loomed to win but just missed a place over 1200m last start at the Sunshine Coast. Back to 1050m on the Poly track here suits and he's drawn to get an ideal run and then let down strongly. Looks hard to beat. GREYZOUS (12) has trialled sharply and can be expected to turn in a bold run first-up after showing promise last campaign. PLATINUM LIES (11) has won two of her past three starts, both on this track, and has the speed to use the inside draw and prove hard to run down. FLAG HALL (1) failed last start but will race in blinkers for the first time here and it would be no surprise to see him bounce back strongly. The resuming GHOST HUNTER (4) is worth consideration after a strong campaign last preparation.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Rustic Boom on top.
7 03:24 TAB WE'RE ON OPEN Handicap 1200m
Strong early tempo assured with Centaur and Circularity locking horns. JAMAICAN RUMBA (5) is unbeaten from four attempts at this track including a 6.5L success in 1100m Class 5 three starts ago. Has speed to utilise his inside barrier draw and can give a good sight here. GALAXY GENERAL (8) took an inside run when winning on the Sunshine Coast Poly track two starts ago and from a nice draw on the limit weight he's capable of making his presence felt. CIRCULARITY (1) was beaten just over two lengths when 6th of 7 in 1200m Doomben Open Qty last start and that's good enough to give him a genuine chance here.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Jamaican Rumba to win.
8 04:04 JONKER FIRST WEANLINGS BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1540m
Stormtrooper has good gate speed and can overcome the wide alley to lead. PERNELL (1) has a big weight but comes in off a last-start win in higher grade over this course and distance. Has won four times on this track, has barrier one and was scratched from another race on the card to run here. So long as he gets clear running when he needs it he can be in the finish again here. VANCITY (8) has been freshened since running on OK for sixth in Ipswich Class 4 at her most recent. Won twice at Ipswich earlier this campaign and draws well. Watch for her to be finishing strongly. STORMTROOPER (16) was beaten as short-priced favourite at Gympie last start but before that was only a length away in similar company as a $4.60 chance at this track. Can measure up with the 3kg claim of Shania Willis. FIFTY CARATS (14) ran fourth in a benchmark 62 at big odds at this track last week. A repeat of that can see her in the mix.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Pernell to win.
9 04:39 A MOT MOMENT MAY 24 Class 1 Handicap 1200m
Solid tempo with Flying Milo to lead but under plenty of pressure in a keen early contest. POLARISING (8) is racing well this preparation and comes into this off a last-start fifth in 1110m Class 1 at Doomben where she stuck on gamely after racing on the pace. Prior to that she was only grabbed right on the line when runner-up in a Grafton Class 1. Expect her to be in this for a long way. WHISKEY DANCER (10) has been runner-up both starts this preparation and gets the chance to go one better with added fitness here. TORRE EGGER (13) wasn't far behind Whiskey Dancer last time so he also commands respect from a good draw. FLYING MILO (2) showed fight to win a maiden at Grafton two starts before a second here last start. Capable of a bold showing here.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Polarising to win.
