Hot early pace from Puerto Manzano, Aragosta and Future Pearl going hammer-and-tongs, with a few others keeping them honest. PURE PREDATOR (6) challenged strongly but found one too good on the day. He should be ideally suited to 2000m. Richard Fourie retains the ride and he can go one place better. ARAGOSTA (2) was not disgraced when finishing third of 13 at this track. Marco van Rensburg retains the ride and if confirming his recent improvement should have a say in the outcome of this contest. HOTARUBI (7) finished a close-up fourth of 13 fourth over 2450m at this track. This doesn't look as hard so he is likely to figure in the finish. PUERTO MANZANO (1) produced ninth over 2000m at this track last start. Capable of running a place.
