Good pace with Mystique Rouge booting up inside the speedy pair Natalia and Status Quo. OH SO SQUISHY (6) was her own worst enemy over 1600m last time as she over raced in the early stages. However, the manner in which she stayed on at the finish that day to run third was encouraging. Richard Fourie retains the ride and if he is able to switch her off early, she can return to winning form. IDEAL GIFT (10) was given a gun ride when winning her last start by a nose over 1750m at Scottsville when sent out as the favourite. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. Two of her three career victories have come on this course and she merits healthy respect. SUMMER SONG (7) resumes from a spell after having won over 1600m at Greyville All Weather last start. Rates highly and fresh-up is likely to be prominent. ENGLISH PRIMROSE (8) has switched yards since finishing fifth last start over 1400m at Greyville All Weather. Rates well on her best efforts.
