BLUE RENEGADE (1) started big odds on debut but nearly caused the upset, boxing on well to finish second, beaten just a neck. Sure to be better for that run and Damian Lane sticks with him. Will take plenty of catching. MARKDEL (7) resumes having run third on debut to the talented Stay Focused on debut in a strong race at Geelong. That form should hold up very well here. BEAUTIFUL JEWEL (10) is a filly by Highland Reel on debut for the Maher yard. She's won a trial in readiness and must be respected. CYCLONE COCO (4) was last in a field of 3 on debut but looks an improver this time in. SUGGESTED PLAY: Blue Renegade on top.
