Strong early tempo over this journey looks a certainty. POMPEI WARNING (4) stayed on well when finishing sixth of 12 over 1000m on this course last time. He won a good race in his penultimate start over this distance on the turf, under jockey Craig Zackey. He takes a slight drop in class and from pole position can notch up his third-career victory. GREY SMOKE (6) ran on strongly when winning his last start over this course and distance. He jumps from a good draw of two and can follow up. LIFE ON MARS (1) produced good form lines before given a spell. Three of his five career victories have come over this course and distance. Apprentice Trent Mayhew takes the 4kgs off his back and if not in need of the run, he may be hard to catch at the finish. BODY ELECTRIC (2) returns from a spell and is having her first run for the Alan Greeff stable. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and if suited to the polytrack, she should show improvement.
