Genuine tempo from Kodiak leading Gronkowski. HEAVENLY EAGLE (8) ran on strongly first-up from a long spell at Bendigo over 1300m, getting within a length in third. He's a handy horse on his day and should strip fitter here. Drawn the inside, if he can hold a spot he'll be hard to beat. GRONKOWSKI (2) is racing well, winning his first two this campaign and not far away since. Maps ideally out to 1500m now and should take catching. KODIAK (1) is a consistent type who was beaten under a length, finishing third at Sandown-Hillside last time out. That form should hold up nicely here. CROWN CRUSHER (7) comes through the Country Mile race at Caulfield. Just fair there but that was a deep race. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Heavenly Eagle.
