Speed anticipated from Saries Gem, Jack's Choice, Insky and possibly Scarbelly Butch. Plenty of on-pacers here but the leader is well concealed. The pace should be strong. CAPALL RUA ran a huge race first up over 1100m at Warrnambool and looks the testing material if he has progressed from that run. Was trapped deep on that occasion and loomed to win but just petered late. Fitter for the run and if he gets a little cover from the wide gate will be strong late. Lightly raced mare SARIES GEM looks to be over her issues and is racing well this prep. Was on a four day backup when runner up over 1100m at Echuca last start after racing right on the speed. Placed at this trip the run before. Very fit now and must be a great chance of breaking through. JACK'S CHOICE was coming off a ten month spell when an impressive runner up over this distance at Casterton, hitting the line well. Has been given a 39 day freshen up so staying at this trip is not an issue. Do Dar placed in a weaker race at Manangatang on debut but is capable of being competitive here. SUGGESTED PLAY: Looking to play both Capall Rua and Saries Gem.
