Moderate tempo with Cocoli Island leading the way and a few others keeping in touch. COCOLI ISLAND (7) started at $3.50 last time but could only manage fifth at this track over 2000m. Has the pace to be in a prominent position from the outset. Expected to be in the finish. SILVER NEEDLE (9) did a great job to score by 2 lengths over this course and distance last time out to continue his outstanding recent form. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot repeat the dose. SCHNEE GUTS (5) failed to figure again last time over 1500m at Funabashi when sixth. Can be competitive here. MEISHO CLARK (4) missed the placings last start when seventh over 1500m at Kawasaki. Best efforts measure up so worth another chance.
