AVENGER (2) went back from a wide gate on the front line last start and couldn't come on, finishing 14 metres from the winner in sixth at Newcastle over 2030m. Has the benefit of a far better draw. Meets a similar quality field and is good enough to take out a race like this. FOX TROT (1) settled handy before taking the lead and going on with the job to take out a 2060m race at Forbes last start, adding to his fine victory the run prior at Parkes. Will enjoy a nice run from this favourable starting position. His last-start form is good enough to put him right in the finish. CHEDDAR VALLEY (5) is in the mix following a respectable third at his most recent appearance over 1609m at Newcastle. HES MY REASON (10) is worth some thought after his last-start fifth over 1609m at Newcastle on April 24.
