MAYWYNS MIGHTY MAC (3) has been a bit hot and cold and that continued last start when he finished third, beaten 4.5 metres, in a nice return to form at Newcastle over 1609m. No excuses from this advantageous draw. Meets some better types this time but he has the ability to play a significant role. LACHIES IDEAL (7) did a good job to finish in the minor placings two runs back then his luck changed last time when he broke and finished a long way back in eighth over 1609m at this track. Won't spend a penny from this draw but luck may play a role on the bell lap. Only needs to get things right to be in contention. LACHIES GAMBLE (4) resumes from a spell. Last appeared when a modest ninth over 2422m at Maitland four-and-a-half months ago. IM LORD TOMMY (2) is worth some thought after his last-start fifth over 1609m at this track on April 16.
