Strong tempo from the outset as a number of them push forward, with Deception Pass, Trombettista and Erimitage leading the charge. DECEPTION PASS (1) has produced three good runs to date. He was his own worst enemy over 1700m last time when resuming as he over raced in the early stages. He will enjoy the drop to 1400m. He will strip a much fitter horse today and in this field can shed his maiden tag. THE CANE TRAIN (11) looked well in need of his debut effort over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course last start. He would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected should have a say in the outcome of this contest. MOCHA FRAPPE (3) was in need of his last start run over this distance at Turffontein when resuming from a spell. He tries the blinkers for the first time which should keep his mind on the task at hand. He will strip a much fitter horse and can finish in the placings. RADIANT HEAT (12) is a six-start maiden who finished fourth of nine at her latest appearance over 1400m at Greyville All Weather when well supported. Well placed in this line-up to atone.
