Surge has enough pace to cross from the outside draw in a race devoid of genuine early speed. SURGE (12) broke through for his maiden win over 1400m at this track last time, scoring comfortably. Sparingly raced and has more to offer. Has a wide gate to overcome but he is likely to feature in the finish again. PRIYANKA (7) impressed last time out at the second run of the campaign and finished 2.5 lengths from the winner in second over 1400m at this track. Meets some better types this time but another big run is on the cards. TAMAMO CLOCHE (11) was beaten 31 lengths into third at this track two starts ago then finished 5 lengths from the winner in fourth last time at this track. Backmarker who gets home hard. Well placed here and among the winning hopes. TAKAMINOGAKOI (5) is yet to break through after nine starts but not far off a win. Placed two back then missed the frame but was thereabouts last time over 1500m at Funabashi. Suited here and can sneak into the finish.
