It all went wrong for JOANS RISING STAR (1) at Penrith last time when she drew poorly and raced wide before coping a cheek and breaking. Came from a much wider barrier for an easy win at this circuit and distance prior and the ace draw can see her bounce back to winning form. ULTIMATE CRUZA (3) resumes after good success last prep, winning on three occasions including his last outing at Tamworth in June. Has won four of six attempts at this circuit and distance and should enjoy a nice run from this draw. Readied with a trial and is proven fresh so looking for a strong return. RIPPIN RUPERT (4) draws wider but is worth plenty of thought off an easy last-start win by more than 19 metres at Tamworth. BAT MATSON (5) has had little luck at the last couple of outings but recorded a string of placings prior.
