Oceans Fouroseven should have enough pace to lead a low-pressure contest. OCEANS FOUROSEVEN (10) started huge odds at debut over 1300m at Bendigo but ran out of his skin, boxing on well for a close-up fifth and beaten less than two lengths. Looks suited by the mile and can only be improved. Showed tough to follow up. KING FLEANCE (3) has started twice and both times has wound up strongly, finishing runner-up on debut then fourth last time. Expected to relish the mile and looks a definite win chance. WINDHOWLER (7) was safely held fresh but will strip fitter and the extra trip is a big plus. Expecting sharp improvement. CREUSA (8) is more of a staying type but can run well here fresh. Quarter Mile should spear straight to the front of the small field. The Hayes barn has three hopes in the race, including QUARTER MILE (5), who returns for second campaign. Did plenty wrong first start the showed speed and was swamped late. Fitter for two trials and expected to take catching. DO THE DIRTY (3) ran a better race last start at his second trip to the races, finishing fourth over 1000m at Mornington. Open to further improvement. SILENT DEVOTION (10) finished second last start over 1200m at Warrnambool, beaten 3 lengths. Placed 3/3 so far and deserves a win. Blinkers added and looks close to break through. STRONG TEMPO (6) is by the sire Fierce Impact and from the stakes-winning mare Aspect Ratio. Ran sixth at recent trial. Has had plenty of education and worth watching for a move. SUGGESTED PLAY: Stick with Quarter Mile. |

Pace solid from So Star going forward from an outside draw along with Bronwyn Lady. PLATINUM RUSH (11) is close to a win after a string of minor placings, the latest when third over 1200m at Ballarat Synthetic. Not the best away last time and the placing was better than it looked. With a better start should prove hard to hold out. BOSS BUNDLE (1) is still a maiden after 12 starts. Could only manage to finish seventh last time out over 1300m at Bendigo following a minor placing at Sale when fresh from a spell the run prior. Capable of a big finish. SO STAR (5) wasn't far off maiden success before a break of seven months, finishing the campaign with a minor placing over 1406m at Terang. Fitter for two trials and expected to feature fresh. TED PERCY (6) was beaten for speed on debut last start then worked home honestly to finish fifth over 1008m at Mildura. Big improver and expected to go well. SUGGESTED PLAY: Platinum Rush deserves a win. |

Simply Luscious should lead but there are a few other speedy types who can keep her honest. Good race and oodles of pace. MEET ME HALFWAY (6) was a winner two back then ran on hard for a close-up fourth in this class last time. Has placed 2/2 this course and distance and looks tough to stop. SIMPLY LUSCIOUS (8) is a local who is flying this time in with back-to-back wins over 1000m when leading throughout. Has placed 2/3 here at home. Drops in weight after the claim and will take catching again. MONIX (1) boasts a great record on the home track with three wins including two wins and two minors from five tries at the sharp dash here. Drawn for a soft run and should be in the finish. UP THE FRONT (3) ran on strongly last time in what was the first run for the new yard. Should be doing the same again. EPIC CENTRE (5) strips fitter and expected to figure prominently. SUGGESTED PLAY: Follow up on Meet Me Halfway. |

Genuine tempo with the speedy Full Of Knowledge leading the way. Tricky race where the majority of chances have to be forgiven. ASSISI (11) made her debut in the Merson Cooper Stakes at last year's spring carnival and wasn't disgraced, finishing midfield. Back into work in the autumn but didn't race, and finally returns now. They've been very patient but after two recent trials looks set for a bright return. MAYNARD (3) has shown ability and can feature here fresh. CHASING ATLANTIS (7) made debut this course and distance over the winter but bombed the start. Given time and can improve sharply. EXPLOSIVE MAGIC (12) is fitter for one run back but over much further. Career best run of the four starts was this course and distance. SUGGESTED PLAY: Assisi fresh. |

Circa is the likely leader and should be able to get there comfortably. Even race but FONN POWER (4) looks close to a win. Raced over 2200m at Donald last time and kept coming, beaten just a nose. Looks suited by the 2400m and drops in weight. Looks hard to hold out. COMPRESSING (2) went back from an outside gate last time and circled back and wide before running on hard to fifth over 2000m at Wangaratta a month ago. First try this longer journey but lightly raced and looks suited. Hard to hold out. VERIFIER (7) was good this grade two back then raced off his best last time when fifth in the same race as Fonn Power. Will be tough to hold out on best. DANDRUFF (5) finished 2.3 lengths back from the winner last start at Mildura on soft going and is down in weight this time. Ready to win after two solid runs back. HIGHLAND GLORY (6) turned in a much better effort last time out to score by a long neck over 2200m at Hamilton. Going well and could follow up. SUGGESTED PLAY: Follow up on Fonn Power. |

Mike's Hope has enough pace to take up the running from his wide draw in a low-pressure affair. Tough race. QUEEN OF CORDOBA (14) has been going well without winning, the latest a three-length sixth on a wet track over a mile at Murtoa. Worth noting the only time on firmer footing in her career was the win of her maiden. Suited here and gets a chance to find winning form. HABITUAL (12) is a progressive type who stepped up to a mile last time and raced right away with a five-length win. Has upside still and can go on with it. CALLISTEMON (8) wasn't far away in similar grade last time and best figures stack up. SURFY PETE (7) scored a strong on-speed win last time and can give a sight again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Queen Of Cordoba gets her chance. |

Slick pace with Decanted finding the front but it won't be a picnic with a few other speedy types engaged. DECANTED (8) was on speed and fought on for second last start over 1200m at Echuca, making it three minor placings in a row. Drawn to enjoy a good run on the speed. Deserves a win and gets chance. ROYAL INFANTRY (2) built on a nice second two starts back at Ballarat Synthetic with a win over 1400m at Ballarat Synthetic three weeks ago, getting home by a head. Drawn for a soft run and will be tough to stop late. MAMUNO (10) is fitter for a solid return and expected to be in the finish this time. SHALAILED (5) has been thereabouts without winning but has been racing in richer races for a while, including the rich Topaz here five back when outclassed in the feature sprint. Gets chance to find best form. SUGGESTED PLAY: Stick with Decanted. |
