Spanish Armada should spear straight to the front of the small field.
JUNIPER (6) made light work of the heavy ground when cruising home to win on debut at Northam over 1000m where the only surprise was the price she paid. The extra 200m is no problem, and even on a firmer surface, she can take the next step immediately. VIENNA CALLING (2) backed up her maiden win at Pinjarra-Scarpside with a fourth last time out on this track a fortnight ago. Holly Nottle will take 1.5kg off her back, and she should be hard to hold out in a small field. ARTIE'S STORM (5) set the pace and folded up quickly in a stronger class here 3 weeks ago over 1400m. Having 200m less to travel this time will suit her, and she is worth another chance. SPANISH ARMADA (1) set the pace and folded up in the run to the line here 18 days ago, when following on from an easy Northam win before that. Stick with him. MC POLYTRACK MAIDEN 1200m
Expecting Winter Bloom to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sprint course. OFFICIAL BUSINESS (6) finished runner-up by a neck as the favourite at Northam nearly 2 weeks ago and is trial form has always been that of a horse that can win some races, so with any luck from a wide gate, he can go one better here. OUR MANE MAN (7) won a trial prior to finishing second here a fortnight ago over 1200m by less than a length. He has to overcome a tougher draw this time, but strips fitter, and he can figure in the top 3 again. JEMCONI (5) was a sound fourth as the favourite when resuming from a spell here and had won a trial very comfortably before that. She dons the blinkers for the first time, and it is only her wide gate that will prevent her from going close to taking this out. DIAMOND JACK (3) has been given plenty of time to make his debut, and he looked forward in condition when winning his latest trial at Lark. Follow any market confidence, as he too is drawn off the track. WINTER BLOOM (11) may have found that his last run had come too soon for him. SUGGESTED PLAY: Official Business can win this. |

Plenty of first starters engaged which makes it tricky to map, but we can assume a solid tempo. SECOND DRAFT (10) was all set to make his debut but had to be late-scratched after pulling a plate before the start. He hails from the powerful Williams stable, and with William Pike taking the ride, he should make an immediate impact. GUNNING FOR GOLD (7) made a solid impression on debut at Northam when finishing third on a heavy track there nearly 2 weeks ago, and he will naturally improve with the run. He carries 1.5kg less this time and can get the job done. CALL ME INVINCIBLE (1) ran on late to finish fourth here last time out, and he will have a big swing in his draw this time. Each way all day. UNANSWERED (6) only battled late on a heavy track at Northam last time out, and his third prior on a firmer surface at Pinjarra-Scarpside is the guide to use. Stick with him. WESTERN PHOENIX (12) makes his debut after winning a trial late last month. He looks to be very talented, and if not too green, he can figure in the top 3. Check the markets. Solid tempo anticipated with Star Martini heading them off. STAR MARTINI (4) was run down late when resuming here in late July and then was too slick with an end-to-end win at Northam last time out. She cops more weight up in class but looks to have the scope to make further progress this season. On top again. SUPERSMASH (5) was a tough winner at Northam 6 days ago, and if she can cope with a 6-day turnaround, then she can take the next step immediately. MON VISAGE (7) made an encouraging debut when finishing third here 2 weeks ago, and despite dropping back to 1000m, she can figure in the top 3 again. KUTE AS KAN BE (9) has run the odd good race, and with the aid of a 3kg claim, he should be kept safe in all combinations. SUGGESTED PLAY: Star Martini to win again. |

SHARE BETS WITH TABTOUCH BET LOOP HANDICAP 1000m
Snip Of Romance and Last Stylebender possess good early speed. GUARANTOR (5) steps up in class after gripping on to a nose win here last week on a soft track. He will carry half a kilo less this time, and from a good gate, he will take plenty of pegging back again, especially if the track is wet again. LAST STYLEBENDER (1) is a handy gelding who also likes to lead in his races, so he may make things interesting early on with the top pick. He is nicely placed at this level after a 1.5kg claim, and another good effort is on the cards. KING'S DRAMA (2) made up plenty of late ground here 11 days ago over this trip when finishing fourth. He slides down in class, and can have the last say, so watch for him late. SNIP OF ROMANCE (8) is another speedy customer, and he may have to take a sit this time with all that pace underneath him in the draw. Keep him safe. Genuine tempo with Rising Fame leading the way. CASSANDRA (8) overcame a slow start on debut at Pinjarra to win as expected when storming home late to get in the final strides, scoring by half a length in the end. An extra 100m will suit her, and with that experience sure to have improved her, she can win again. RISING FAME (9) has not quite rounded off her last couple of starts on soft tracks here, and a firmer surface should see her bounce back into some good form. PERFUME PRINCESS (11) ran on late for fourth in a much better performance here 3 weeks ago over 1200m. She tries 1400m for the first time and should not be underestimated. HOT CHIX LANE (5) is a promising filly who put it all together to score by half a length here 2 weeks ago. She cops a tougher draw this time, but she can continue to progress this season. Include. DIAMOND WARRIOR (3) did not fire here last start when settling back in a tougher grade. His form prior at this level was good, so he is worth another chance. Moderate tempo with Back To Bondi leading the way and a few others keeping in touch. BACK TO BONDI (1) whacked away to finish fourth as the favourite here 2 weeks ago when having to work hard from a wide draw. He has a superior gate this time, and in a similar set-up, he can take this out. Follow your money. IMPRESSIVE JEWEL (6) is gradually working her way towards another win, and she finished ahead of the top pick in the same race when finishing third last start. She has the pole position again, but this time she will have William Pike back in the saddle, and that may be enough to see her get the nod. THE NUN (7) finished just behind the top pick in the same race last time out in fifth place. A firmer surface will suit him and he is peaking at the right time. Stick with him on an each-way basis. GRANDAD'S ADICTION (9) built strongly for a well-deserved win here last week, and though there is more depth to this field, he can repeat the dose. ROSIE CAN RUN (3) has made an encouraging start to this prep and won here 2 starts back in lesser company. Keep her safe. SUGGESTED PLAY: Impressive Jewel each way. |

Cracking tempo with Azabelle and Radiant Light leading the way. SURROUND ME (8) was a touch plain last start at Northam when finishing fifth and 3 lengths off the winner. She may have needed all of her 3 runs this prep, and her best effort would make her the one to beat in this. Follow your money. CABLE ROCK (11) has turned his form around once he was back on good ground, following up a nose defeat here with an easy all-the-way win at Pinjarra nearly 3 weeks ago. Stick with him, despite the tough gate. RADIANT LIGHT (1) has also appreciated some firmer surfaces, and he was too slick at Pinjarra a week ago, when he went end-to-end to score by nearly a length.
