Sportsbet Race Previews Handicap 1000m
Hot tempo expected from Risky Whisky and Foxenberg. Tricky race to kick off the card. SIMPLY STEFFI (10) resumes. She wasn't beaten far in a Listed race on debut before winning her maiden nicely. She again wasn't far away in a G3 before a spell and finds a nice race down in the weights here. FOXENBERG (5) was no match for a very speedy horse at Sale fresh but held on for second. He did beat PICK 'N' MIX (8) when they met back in January and sets up well here. Pick 'N' Mix was okay fresh on synthetic and can improve from the good draw. FEHMARN (4) has won 2/4 to date, a smart winner over this trip at Bendigo last time out. Doing a good job for the Waymouth camp and has to be respected again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Simply Steffi on top. |

Evergreen Turf Plate 1200m
Not a big field but many line-up for the first time so the pace should be genuine. FULL CONFIDENCE (6) is a well bred filly by I Am Invincible out of G1 SA Derby winner Qafila who debuts for the McEvoy yard. She looked very smart winning a recent jumpout and sets up nicely. Should take beating. REGAL AMBITION (8) resumes having run on strongly from a tricky spot on debut at Ballarat, sent out favourite there. Can improve this time in and that experience is worth plenty. STIPULATION (9) tackled a good race on debut at Sandown Lakeside and worked home well for fourth. Better for that, just wonder if she wants more ground now. ACE STRIKE (1) is an Ace High gelding for the Price & Kent Jnr yard on debut. Shinn booked, wary from the inside gate. DISPATCHES (3) is a Gun Runner colt who can also run well. SUGGESTED PLAY: Full Confidence to win. |

Digari to roll forward and dictate terms. Open staying contest but the upside of NOTTOLOOK (5) appeals. He's only raced three times, winning his past two nicely, coming from well back to score at Swan Hill when last seen 43 days ago. No issue with the gap between runs for the Payne yard and he can measure up to these. BLACK PEPPERMINT (1) is building towards a win in three runs this time in, very good two back at Caulfield Heath before a solid effort to 2000m last time. 2400m is perfect now, go close. CHIHULY (8) doesn't win out of turn but put in a good effort last time behind a smart winner and looks a key hope off that. POWER PIVOT (9) is going well and in the mix again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Nottolook to win. |

Emperor Tzu and Station One to take it up. Keen to see the progressive GOLD CHARIOT (11) step out again. He won by an effortless eight lengths two back at Pakenham Synthetic, backing it up with an impressive victory from a mile back at Sandown Lakeside last time. Can keep the ball rolling. FEDERER (4) has been good in all three runs back and should be peaking now. If he can hold a spot from the inside gate he'll be right there. EMPEROR TZU (10) backs up quickly off a good win over this route last time out. He was behind Gold Chariot prior but is in the mix again. Of the rest, JUST TOO FLY (8) comes in next best off his run two back but form either side has been awful. SUGGESTED PLAY: Gold Chariot to win. |

A strong gallop is likely with Home Invasion and Hydro Rush taking up the running, closely attended by Fontalicious and London Fields. TALES OF TIME (1) resumes. He just missed in the G3 Maribyrnong Plate on debut before easily taking care of a maiden field as the $1.18 favourite when last seen. Profiles as if he'll continue to improve and can win this despite the 61kg impost. JACARANDA (2) just missed last time out in a bunched finish, beaten a head by Buggsy having chased the 3yo's in the Lightning Stakes prior which is good form. Sets up well and looks a key danger. Wary of SUNBLISS (9) who beat Rubare on debut at Cranbourne back in March. Fancy she'll get further this time in but can win here. HOME INVASION (10) is a speedy filly who might be best suited this trip and can take catching. SUGGESTED PLAY: Tales Of Time to win. |

Plenty of pressure from Headbanger, Divine Dot and Romantic Miss battling for the lead over Gina's A Star. HEADBANGER (3) resumes. She's a fast mare who won well over this trip easily at Cranbourne before a spell. Prior to that she'd been in the market in a strong 3yo race at Flemington and fresh here over the short course can see her very hard to run down. ARABELLA STAR (9) resumes. She mixed her form a bit last time in but ran a couple of good races last time in and should be steaming home. DIVINE DOT (6) ran well enough fresh in a bunched finish. Now out of 3yo company but can improve for the run and take beating. EGERTON (7) will be back but has produced some good runs at 1000m and can be running on strongly. SUGGESTED PLAY: Headbanger to win. |

Tennessee Bound and Here To Shock will likely pair off in front. The Chautauqua Stakes, carried over from Saturday's abandoned meeting. The betting prior to postponement was very keen on PERSIAN SPIRIT (6) who ran a great race fresh. He was able to settle handy which has been a problem and stays down in the weights here to 1300m which suits nicely. Can win this en route to a Rupert Clarke tilt. WARNIE (3) got a long way back and ran on well fresh in the same race. An extra 100m suits, look for him steaming late. TENNESSEE BOUND (11) tasted defeat for the first time when perhaps not ridden to her strengths. She can roll along and give a sight although this is tougher again. Wary of AMENABLE (5) now with Grahame Begg. His best is good enough. SUGGESTED PLAY: Persian Spirit to win. |

Stay Silent to take charge ahead of Navy King at a solid tempo. The other race carried from Saturday and CHANGING COLOURS (5) is clearly the one to beat. She's been fantastic for the new yard, winning her past two very impressively with a huge gap to third latest. Is now 32 days between runs but Shinn should give her a lovely ride midfield and prove too strong late. STAY SILENT (4) is flying having won his past three with aggressive leading rides. Imagine similar tactics will be adopted here and he'll give another huge sight. SOMEWHERE (15) was very good behind Stay Silent last time from a tough spot. He's racing very well without much luck and can win. CASTLE ON HIGH (19) split that pair last time so must have claims again from FARHH FLUNG (9) who was good last time out. SUGGESTED PLAY: Changing Colours to win. |

Solid tempo with Belcony leading from Prevention and Savitri. Wide open. The resuming SAVITRI (2) is of interest having last been seen running a game sixth in the G1 Australasian Oaks in Adelaide behind Panova. Prior to that she'd won two strong races in Melbourne and while 1400m is short of her best she has pace and can win, especially with a couple of dangers scratching. CASTELLITO (6) is lightly raced, winning a Class 1 fresh at Seymour before a sound effort there last time behind a handy one. Up to 1400m now should suit and she draws ideally. JENNI YOU THINK (12) is off a let up back from 1800m but has the ability to figure here, she'll be back and charging late. GEFFINA (3) resumes off a short spell and will have residual fitness, she can run well. SUGGESTED PLAY: Savitri on top. |

Plenty of pressure with Fear No Evil, Prestige Forever and Fridge Monster leading the charge. Keen to see BUCCLEUCH (2) step out again. He was awesome first up here over this trip, bolting away by 4.5 lengths in a very strong performance. He'd looked Group class as a 2yo before an issue and should be taking care of these again en route to better races. KAHHOF (3) was a good winner two back before finishing third last start over 1410m at Flemington, beaten 1.4 lengths, shorter in the market on that occasion. He maps perfectly for an in-form Blake Shinn, wary. LOVELYCUT (10) didn't run out a strong mile last time but had been going very well prior over this trip, albeit just finding one better. Could do so again but she'll run well. FEAR NO EVIL (14) was no match for the favourite last time but will be up on speed and giving a sight again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Buccleuch to win. |
