No designated leader and Alekhine's Gun may find himself in front. RECIPROCAL (4) got too far back fresh over the mile but did warm late. Much better suited stepping out to this trip and rates highly on best figures. HAMNER SPRINGS (1) gave backers a sight fresh and battled on well to hold onto third. Less effective in town last start but should find this easier third-up and gets a key switch in Holder. Can improve sharply. MASTER OF CEREMONY (3) hasn't won for a long time but is knocking on the door, only beaten a lip last time when sent out favourite. Only needs to hold his form to be right there again. VALUED (5) hasn't threatened in his last two but has earlier form that can measure up on the quick back-up. Not dismissing. SUGGESTED PLAY: Reciprocal to win. |

Expecting Polunin to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sharp trip. POLUNIN (1) made the perfect start to his career at Balaklava when racing away from his rivals after showing good early speed. Progressive type that's on his way through. MALDIVICA (6) hasn't been as effective in her last two when tackling tougher company. Better suited back to this level and does boast a solid record at this venue. One of the main threats. Stablemate BREAKFAST (5) was far from her best first-up on the slop in town. Wet again but she draws well again and gets in light with the 2kg claim. Can improve sharply. PRINCE LUCIFER (2) returns well shy of a preferred trip but if the tempo is genuine he can make his presence felt late. SUGGESTED PLAY: Polunin to win. |

Regal Time is the likely leader at a strong tempo. HEALTHANDHAPPINESS (3) was in the market on debut and was far from disgraced but just needed the run. Has been freshened with 49 days and kept up to the mark with two trials. Bold showing anticipated. HERE SHE IS (8) is knocking on the door but has just struggled to put it all together so far. Will likely drift back from the draw and be charging at the business end. WATERORTHECAN (10) was well supported on debut in town but failed to fire a shot. Gets the blinkers applied and is open to significant improvement. MEAN MAZZLE (4) is a Lean Mean Machine gelding on debut for the Shepherd yard. Doesn't strike a deep maiden here, so worth safekeeping. SUGGESTED PLAY: Healthandhappiness to win. |

Not much early speed on paper and My Cherie Amor is the most likely leader. STAR SERPENT (9) returns. Didn't show much in her debut prep but looks to have come on nicely during the break and takes benefit from a recent jumpout. Gets in well with the 2kg claim and is one of the main hopes. GOODLOOKIN' GURU (7) didn't fire a shot fresh when clearly below her best. Willing to give another chance with that run out of the way. ZARUBINA (6) battled away soundly into a midfield finish when resuming at Mt Gambier last time. Strips fitter and is drawn much kinder this time. Expected to make her presence felt. KARMA QUEEN (5) was too bad to be true last time over the mile at Balaklava but her run prior was solid and she doesn't strike a deep maiden here. Drops back to a sprinting trip and is worth another chance. SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Star Serpent in a tricky maiden. |

Shamastar should find the front with Mandarin and Mystrix on his heels. MOUSSAKA (1) lengthened nicely in the lane second-up when closing off sharply into the placings. Nearing peak now and should appreciate the added trip. Holder sticking adds to confidence. MYSTRIX (8) was sent forward last time at Balaklava and kept fighting in the lane to hold down a minor placing. Has been kept fresh with 35 days between runs and finds another good chance to get off the mark. TASSORO (2) showed good improvement here second-up when beaten less than a length. Steps out in trip a month between runs and is among the main chances with further improvement in store. CELEMAN ZOR (3) steps out in new colours and drops back in trip 53 days between runs. Has trialled nicely in between and is one to keep in mind. SUGGESTED PLAY: Moussaka gets the nod. |

Sengoki to go to the lead at a genuine tempo. TESTING ONE TWO (2) returns and the form around him last campaign reads very well for this level. Has been readied with two trials and can make a winning return. THE COSMIC ONE (1) also resumes and will be looking straight back up from where he left off his debut prep when getting off the mark in town. Quietly held in his recent trial and while he may need the run off a long break, he looks an above-average type. KISS AND KABOOM (7) went better than the form reads fresh and has more to offer second-up. Don't underestimate. HAVILAH (5) has been showing good tactical speed of late and could give plenty of cheek if left alone in front. SUGGESTED PLAY: Testing One Two to win. |

Prince Kuro should lead but there are a few other speedy types who can keep him honest. SILVER CHAOS (2) made very light work of her rivals last start at Balaklava, booting away from them in the lane after racing in the leading division. Rock-hard fit now and can repeat the dose. TAHNEE TERRITORY (9) dug deep to get the verdict when resuming here last time in testing conditions. The subsequent form has stuck strongly in 28 days, already producing 3 winners. Draws to get all the favours and looks the main danger. PRINCE KURO (6) has put two on the bounce in fine style when leading pillar-to-post. Is sure to spear across from the wide draw and give them something to catch again. ALOHA BLUE (10) was denied by a head to Tahnee Territory two back and now meets the winner 2kgs better. Can turn the tables. SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Silver Chaos. |

Genuine tempo from Hazy Daze leading Papal Wars. FLYWAY (1) is desperate to break through soon on the back of two consecutive minor placings. Strips rock-hard fit and only needs to hold his form to be right there again. BELLE FROM HELL (9) was much better last time when flashing home to finish within a length of the winner at Balaklava. Can keep the momentum rolling. DORA AURORA (10) skipped through the testing conditions last time at Mt Gambier to get the verdict. Is open to further improvement fourth-up and is worth following. CHANCE TAKEN (4) got too far back first-up but did warm nicely late. Is drawn to get back again but can cause a late scare if the tempo is genuine. HARLEY'N'ROSE (7) returns short of a preferred trip but is a handy type on his day and strips fitter for two trials. Not dismissing. SUGGESTED PLAY: Flyway gets the nod. |
