MATTHEW ARNOLD AND RACHEL MCCROW MEMORIAL QTIS 3-Y-O BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1400m
Far Cry, Truck Stop Honey and Zousain Girl can settle forward in a race lacking a designated leader. HALFACHANCE (1) accounted for a maiden field over 1150m at Gold Coast Poly last start, finishing 4 lengths ahead of the nearest rival. Is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. Capable of making it two on the trot. FAR CRY (3) was a dominant winner last time over 1500m at Kilcoy, getting home by 2.5 lengths. Has been in solid form this campaign with a win and a placing from three starts and is expected to feature again. TRUCK STOP HONEY (4) lines up on the back of a 2.25 lengths fourth over 1350m at Ipswich. Has a win and a placing at this journey from four starts and another big run is expected. MISHANI WITNESS (2) was too good for a maiden field last start over 1400m at Sunshine Coast, scoring by 0.6 lengths. Re-unites with Olivia Kendal who was on board last start. One of the likely contenders. SUGGESTED PLAY: Halfachance to win again. |

LADBROKES TOP 2/3/4 BETTING Maiden Handicap 1400m
Moderate pace with Magnetic Island taking up the running ahead of Up The Creek and Wanna Kiss. SAK THE WRITER (2) is a maiden galloper resuming today after a spell of six months. Closed last campaign with a fifth over 1400m at Rockhampton, beaten only 1.5 lengths. Fitter for three trials, placing most recently. Rates among the leading chances. WANNA KISS (3) stepped out for the first time last start and was just fair in finishing fifth at Kilcoy over 1200m, beaten 4 lengths. Progressive type who can play a role in the finish. UP THE CREEK (1) was out of the money when resuming from a spell last start over 1200m at Beaudesert, beaten 4.5 lengths after being in contention on the corner. Strips fitter now and is sure to find some form. MAGNETIC ISLAND (5) finished 2.25 lengths away in fifth at her last appearance over 1100m at Toowoomba on November 29. Among the chances in what looks a nice race for her. SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Trifecta 2,3,1,5. |

LADBROKES ODDS SURGE Maiden Handicap 1000m
Prucia will stride forward but there are few debutants who can keep her busy. VERSION (9) was only a long neck from the winner in second last time out in a small field over 1050m at Inverell at the first run of the campaign in the wet. Has the pace to be in a prominent position from the outset and her best figures should see her run well. PRUCIA (4) turned in a good performance last time over 800m at Ipswich, finishing 1.75 lengths from the winner in third after she was handy all the way. The extra journey should play into her hands and is right in the mix. SOLAR SURFER (11) finished sixth after being prominent at the bend at his last appearance over 1200m at Sunshine Coast on November 9. Solid top-three chance on best figures. PIPPIE POMAR (10) finished 8 lengths from the winner in eighth at her most recent appearance over 1000m at Gold Coast after she gave away a big start. Is better than that run suggests and appeals as a top-four contender. SUGGESTED PLAY: Version to shed the maiden tag. |

LADBROKES BIG BETS BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1000m
Elusive Eagle, Sutherland and Zouchase will not hold back as they vie for the lead from Inatick and Spiked. KINGSLAND (11) dug deep to score two runs back then was beaten 5 lengths into fifth over 1200m at Toowoomba last time five-and-a-half weeks ago. Better placed this time and is a genuine threat. SUTHERLAND (5) turned in a modest performance when fourth last time out over 800m at Kilcoy, beaten 5 lengths after being in contention on the corner. That followed a win at this track at the previous outing. Finds a suitable race and can play a major role. The well-related SIR CARTER (1) (half to G2 winner Oak Door) finished eighth over 1640m at Doomben at his most recent appearance on August 6. Yet to win first up but generally runs well with three minor placings from six tries and is a definite top-three chance. MY NAME IS (3) was in contention on the turn and finished third last start at the first run back from a spell over 800m at Ipswich, beaten 3.5 lengths. Placed to advantage so expect another forward showing. SUGGESTED PLAY: Kingsland to bounce back. |

LADBROKES RACING EXTRAS IN MULTI RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1000m
Genuine tempo from Seeburg leading Runaround Sue. SKY BLUE (9) finished out of the money two starts back then she settled well back and was beaten 2.5 lengths when eighth in a 1100m contest at Ipswich eight days ago. Kelsey Lenton gets the best out of this four-year-old mare. Finds the right race this time and can find winning form. XUANFENG (17) last appeared five-and-a-half weeks ago over 1300m at Toowoomba when he finished fourth. This is his first run for the Caitlin Johnstone stable. One of the genuine hopes in the race. KENTUCKY ROSE (6) was prominent at the turn and finished third last start over 800m at Kilcoy, beaten 1.4 lengths. Will be rock-hard fit. Suitably placed so anticipating another forward showing. ARTOPIA (8) is a last-start winner who shouldn't be slept on. SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Trifecta 9,17,6,8. |

LADBROKES SPRING HOSTED POTS Class 3 Plate 1400m
Good pace expected with Gotebo, Proponent and Lady Zaydi paving the way. ONE BEAT NO BEAT (6) made progress last start to finish third over 1200m at Beaudesert after being in contention on the turn. Will be at peak fitness and has the talent to take care of this field. LADY ZAYDI (11) comes here off a last-start fifth, beaten 2 lengths, over 1300m at Toowoomba. Likely to feature in the finish. FIRE AND LIGHT (3) is back from a spell of five-and-a-half months. Scored a determined win at his final run last preparation at Gatton over 2000m. Sure to make his presence felt while fresh. GIDDAY GIDDAY (5) is coming off a last-start fourth, beaten 1.5 lengths, over 1300m at Toowoomba. Deserves serious consideration. SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with One Beat No Beat. |

LADBROKES POPULAR SRM BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1200m
A strong gallop is likely with Island Magic and Ariyah taking up the running, closely attended by Profits Prayer and Bulsara. ARIYAH (8) progressed nicely last time out to finish just a long neck from the winner in third over 1100m at Ipswich after being in the firing line on the bend. Has the class to take this out. WORLDY SPIRIT (17) accounted for a maiden field over 1200m at this track last start, finishing a neck ahead of the nearest rival. Capable of taking the next step. BOLD AS BRASS (2) is one from one over this course and distance and has been racing consistently of late. Top-three credentials on current form. MR WANDJI (3) has placed four of seven around this circuit, draws low and gets 2kg weight relief with the claim. Ticks a few boxes for a race like this. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning towards Ariyah. |
