NUM TIME COMMENT
1 02:10 SCONE EQUINE HOSPITAL MAIDEN HANDICAP 1600m
Tricky, given the lack of early speed. CHEVAL DE BOIS (1) was solid on debut when chasing gamely into the placings at Hawkesbury. Sure to have come on from that effort and draws favourably again. Ready to strike. BAWNAGLEN (6) has mixed his form but is showing glimpses of ability. Likely to drift back from the wide alley and charge late. QUESTIONABLE (4) improved sharply second-up when closing off into the placings. Strips fitter third-up and the blinkers go on to sharpen him. Can play a major role and deserves more market respect this time. BOHEMIAN ART (3) is knocking on the door and should be hitting her straps now fourth-up. Looker reunites after building a good association with her in her debut prep. Worth another chance.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Cheval De Bois to win.
2 02:45 MUSWELLBROOK FORD COUNTRY BOOSTED MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200m
Solid tempo with Yasena possessing enough dash to find the front. MR BAZZA (1) showed nice improvement second-up when closing off to earn a minor cheque. Should come on again from that effort and with Bullock sticking, he looks capable of going one better. YASENA (4) couldn’t quite deliver for supporters last time when beaten under a length as favourite. Peaking now on the quick back-up and gets another strong chance to break through. STUCK IN THE GORGE (2) is an All Too Hard colt on debut for the Cavanough yard. Readied with a quiet trial here and secures a key booking in the in-form Nock. Can make his presence felt immediately. LOOKING THE PART (3) was good two back when beaten a long neck but failed to follow it up last time. Worth keeping safe.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Mr Bazza.
3 03:25 DARLEY BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1700m
Tycoon Lad should have enough pace to lead a low-pressure contest. SPENZALOT (3) gets the senior hoop Bullock aboard after a troublesome run last start when heavily supported. His prior form stacks up strongly and he looks capable of bouncing back in a big way. Suspect Bullock will settle closer to the action and have their measure when they sprint. GOLD CAPITAL (5) is ticking along nicely, narrowly missing last time at Tamworth. Draws well for the in-form Nock, though the sharp drop in trip after 16 days is a slight query. Still, he should be very competitive. WICKED GAMES (4) was a determined winner fresh and backed it up with a strong chasing fourth last time. The form around him is holding up and he should be hitting his straps third-up. ROCKBARTON ICON (1) lengthened impressively to score stylishly at Port Macquarie. Freshened with 61 days and gets weight relief with the 3kg claimer engaged. Don’t dismiss.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Spenzalot to win.
4 04:05 FARNAN@KIAORASTALLIONS MAIDEN PLATE 1000m
Mercy Me and Sosueme possess good early speed. MERCY ME (10) is a promising mare resuming for the Doyle camp. Went under on debut as a firm favourite at Wyong back in July but looks to have come on nicely during the break off sharp lead-up work. Draws the inside and should get all the favours. Can make the perfect start. Stablemate SOSUEME (8) is another progressive type resuming. Showed glimpses in her debut prep and, like her stablemate, looks improved after a pair of 1000m trials. Drawn sticky but should make a bright return. NANOTAQ (5) resumes a gelding for the Lees camp and has taken benefit from two trials in readiness. May need the run off a 273-day break but is worth thought at each-way odds. MAGURTZ (3) is a Tassort gelding on debut who looks above average. Trialled sharply and can make an immediate impact. TOO DARN FINESSE (12) is another handy type from the Lees camp and adds depth.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Mercy Me to win.
5 04:40 ARROWFIELD BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1200m
Only a small field but Mirai San, Fox Reign and Straand Care will ensure a genuine tempo. BROKEN WINGS (4) dug deep to arrive just in time when resuming. Was left with far too much to do last time in town but did make good late inroads. Peaking now and reunites with Bullock, who I suspect will be more prominent on the mare. Can get the job done. MYRIAD (6) made a mess of his maiden when resuming, then followed up with a solid fourth at Wyong. Peaking now and is drawn to advantage with the winning hoop reuniting. Big danger. PRIZE WRITER (1) made an immediate impact when getting the bob on debut as favourite. Not as effective last time at Wyong but can rebound sharply third-up. STRAAND CARE (2) returns and looks best of the rest.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Broken Wings to win.
6 05:15 CAPTIVANT@KIAORASTALLIONS COUNTRY BOOSTED CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1100m
Nirmata has good early speed and can set a decent tempo. TRUCE (7) made the perfect start here last month when scoring on debut. Not as effective last time when beaten by a barnstorming winner but still stuck on strongly to grab second. Backs up quickly and gets a great chance to atone. NIRMATA (2) is a progressive type who should be further improved third-up. Drops back to a sprinting trip off a 41-day freshen and can sprint sharply. Don’t take lightly. ARAPAWA (5) is ticking along nicely in his debut prep and finds a suitable race. Went under last time at Muswellbrook as favourite but drops in trip and gets weight relief with the claimer engaged. Worth another chance. NEVERMISTA (4) is busting to break through. Gets the chance to settle closer this time and can play another major role on the quick back-up. Don’t dismiss.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Truce looks hard to beat.
7 05:50 PRAGUE@KIAORASTALLIONS CLASS 3 BENCHMARK 66 HANDICAP 1000m
Expecting Thrilling Venture to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sharp trip. EXPIDO (4) is a promising gelding resuming for the Davies yard. Was a dominant winner when first-up last campaign and looks raring to go off a sharp Gosford trial placing. Clearly the one to beat. THRILLING VENTURE (7) couldn't make it three on the bounce to kick off the prep last time but did give another bold sight in front for her supporters. Sure to do the same again. KANTISHNA (3) stuck his neck out to earn a well-deserved win last time at Tamworth. Tougher this time but has found winning form and can keep the ball rolling from the good draw. Should be competitive. INAZUMA BOY (1) returns and makes his stable debut for the Northam camp. May need the run coming off a 326-day break but is a noted fresh performer and worth keeping safe.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Expido looks hard to beat.
