NUM TIME COMMENT
1 01:47 HYGAIN EDGE MAIDEN 1400m
Moderate tempo with Aitch Montana leading the way. CAWARRA (3) has been going well enough in town and got to within 1.7L at Belmont last time. Carries 2kg less in this, and Chris Parnham is a key jockey engagement. Has the winkers on for the first time and gets her chance. JOYOH (5) has the ability but gives away big starts. She went close at Belmont two back, and she's sure to enjoy the longer sprint. MYSTIC CHAOS (6) also presents fourth-up, and she made good improvement, just beaten out of a place here last time, over 1300m. Faithfull can give her a soft run from the inside barrier. AITCH MONTANA (4) also peaks and has been far away her last two, the latest at big odds at Belmont. Expect her form to stack up, and she maps for the run of the race.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Cawarra appeals most.
2 02:22 ELECTRICAL CONSULTANCY WA MAIDEN 1500m
A race that lacks early pressure on paper. LADY KIKI (7) trialled well, but gave away a big start on debut. She then improved sharply, beaten just 1.2L at Bunbury over 1300m. Chris Parnham is aboard today, and the tongue tie is applied for the first time. She will give some a start, but the extra metres suit. PARISH PRINCE (2) won a Belmont trial but didn't manage the 13 gate at Bunbury first-up. Two back, this fellow was only beaten 2L from the speed over 1800m at Ascot, and the extra metres will suit today. Has a low gate, and quick improvement is likely. BRINGITHOMEALABAMA (4) resumes and would be a hope if presented more forward this time around. Has an awkward barrier, but has two key gear additions, and he impressed at Northam over a mile, before the break. RARE HONOR (3) brings a 1.8L defeat this track/trip, finishing well from the second half of the field. Will have to do it the hard way again, but he can get closer.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Lady Kiki shapes as the one to beat.
3 02:54 HAPPY 50TH LEE TAYLOR MAIDEN 1300m
Tricky one to map with a number of first starters but over this trip there is good speed anticipated. RADIANT LIGHT (4) was outgraded at Stakes level and then bounced straight back, beaten 1L at Belmont as a $2 favourite. To avoid being caught wide, the rider elected to push and lead from the 900m, so there was plenty of merit in the effort. He will take a sit today and is well-placed to win. XELCIMUS (6) went close at Belmont and even closer following at this track/trip. It was a big effort from the 14 barrier, and she is a threat to the above. DOUBLE THE FUN (5) trialled well and did a good job here on debut, beaten 2.4L. He was expected to need it, and from a low gate, he will get every chance to progress. BY THE WOOD (8) resumes, and the betting should reveal plenty about her chances. She was heavily backed at Northam on debut but got too far back. Resumes today, and the gun hoop stays aboard. Draws the outside, but has to be kept very safe regardless.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Radiant Light appeals most.
4 03:35 BRYSON CANVAS MAIDEN 1300m
Solid tempo headed by Viva Marconi and Racy Rascal. This is tricky. VIVA MARCONI (1) peaks off narrow defeats at York and Geraldton. Draws inside and is capable of leading should connections desire. Has a 3kg claim and that brings him right into it. KAT FIVE (10) resumed here over 1200m with a 3L defeat. Will be fitter and the extra metres suit. She can make the finish today. WARDIKCAR (4) debuts and the in-form Galati sticks from a recent Lark Hill trial win. Has an awkward gate but on what we've seen he's capable of featuring. RACY RASCAL (7) started a $3.20 favourite at Narrogin on debut but offered little (vet cleared). He's obviously better than that and Chris Parnham is a key jockey engagement. Has the 2 gate and will get every chance to make amends.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Viva Marconi on what we've seen.
5 04:13 TABTOUCH SHARE MY BET HANDICAP 1200m
Genuine tempo with Ganggajang to lead but under plenty of pressure in a keen early contest. HURRICANE HARLEY (2) resumed with a long head defeat at Bunbury and then delivered an easy Maiden win this track/trip as a $3.2F. Has an inside barrier and fitter again the promising galloper can take the next step. CANTRIX (3) resumes and is good enough if presented on song. Led and just missed on the Scarpside three back on debut and returns with a solid Belmont trial placing under the saddle. CALATHINITE (5) is another last start Maiden winner delivered at Albany when he led all the way. Should present at peak and will take catching. GANGGAJANG (4) didn't get into it at Belmont but led and won her Maiden by 5.6L prior at Narrogin on debut. Much better suited and she's a chance to bounce.  SUGGESTED PLAY: With Hurricane Harley.
6 04:53 SHIRE OF MURRAY HANDICAP 1600m
Genuine pace with Our Nemesis taking up the running ahead of Classic Rogue and Flying Frankie. OUR NEMESIS (1) improved again beaten a nose here this trip when seeking the hat-trick off wins at Albany. Fully fit now and Faithfull stays aboard. He rates to bounce back. CLASSIC ROGUE (2) is a well-performed veteran holding a strong level of form. Gets in well with the 3kg claim and his narrow defeat at Ascot two back over 1800m reads extra well. HESKET (4) shouldn't be underestimated. Raced twice in town and then went close this trip at York, running a good number. Tumbles in weight and that brings him into it. FLYING FRANKIE (6) was close up three times at Ascot over 1000m before being outgraded there in Stakes grade over 1400m. Tackles the mile for the first time and can't be ruled out.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Our Nemesis appeals again.
7 05:30 FESTIVE SEASON RACING SUNDAY DEC 21 HANDICAP 1600m
Battle Commander to take charge ahead of Shazair at a strong tempo. SHAZAIR (4) is a promising galloper who was beaten 1L at Belmont first up before winning a CL1 there over 1400m. It was a tough effort from the 13 barrier and the step up to the mile will hold no fears. Keeps a leading hoop and fitter she can go on with the job. FOREVER DREAMING (5) was quickly back on track when beaten 1L this grade at Belmont. She hasn't won at 1600m but gets her chance in this line-up. BATTLE COMMANDER (1) won at Ascot and then missed a nose at Belmont, before improving his figures again beaten 2.7L at Ascot over 1800m. Positions forward and gets in well with the 3kg allowance. He has claims as well. BONDI BAY (3) will be fitter and is much better than the form line suggests. Up to the mile helps and he's placed 2/2 third-up. Has the inside barrier, and Brad Parnham goes on.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Shazair.
